Comment Here And You May Win a Briggs & Riley @work Bag

I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.

As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).

Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.

Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.

Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.

Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:

Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

Here are the rules:

  • You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.

  • You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.

  • All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.

  • I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).

  • The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.

  • I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.

Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

  1. I always worry that my luggage will bust open if I stuff it too full! I also hate when components break / fall off due to rough handling because it’s not necessarily worth the effort to fix / replace the components but degrades the appearance of the luggage.

  2. I worry that my bags zipper will break enroute and my contents will be spewed all over the place.

  3. I always worry about it, and not just when I check a bag (which is rare). I like to always ensure that my bag is clean and not ripped or broken in anyway. I hate when components break or fail. Hence why I tend to invest in solidly built bags.

  4. I always worry that the car seat I check won’t show up and then I’ll have to buy another one

  5. Only if I were to check it! But checking is against the law in my family so it’s not a problem.

  6. I only worry about what new spot, stain or what zipper handles will be ripped off my bags. I also wonder who pilfers stuff from my bags as well. TSA or baggage handlers? Who knows!!

  7. The first thing I do is check my luggage once I take it off the carousel…so yes, I’m always worried about something bad happening

  8. I always worry that either security or the airline will tell me my bag is too big, although I’ve never actually seen them do this to anyone.

  9. I don’t worry – but then that probably dooms me to something happening next time!

  10. I never worry. Briggs & Riley has an iron clad warranty policy and AMEX platinum will cover the contents!

  11. Do I worry something is going to happen to my luggage? Yes! Ever since the time the handle on my roller got stuck in “unretracted” position 15 minutes before a flight, I worry about the handle snapping off or getting stuck open. I had a “team” of about 5 guys all trying to solve the puzzle of the handle – to no avail. A flight attendant was kind enough to put my bag, with stuck open handle, in the first class closet (I was in coach). The handle never did retract, and I had to buy a new, cheap bag on the road…

  12. I do worry that my luggage will be taken because I use a wheelchair and that means I’m always the last one off the plane. Sometimes because folks are slow getting off and I have to wait for the last person to disembark, it can be upwards of 25 minutes to just get off. So my bags stay on the carousel the entire time and anyone could walk off with them (there’s no tag check at most airports). Luckily my bags have only been stolen 3 times :/

  13. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

    – No, I’ve been fortunate to never have lost my luggage or had any luggage problems while flying. I am extremely thankful for that!

  14. I worry that a disgruntled airline worker will tell me my carry-on is too big or heavy

  15. I don’t worry so much about if anything is going to happen to the luggage as much as whether my luggage will make it to my final destination!

  16. I do my best to not check a bag but when I do I am worried about 10%. Most likely it will show up with no issues, but over the years I’ve had them delayed and it can make a mess out of things. Thankfully never actually lost a bag for more than a day.

  17. I own there B&R items, so I only worry about my bags being lost. I know if there is any damage B&R will stand behind their warranty.

  18. Yes, I try to carry on for long trips because I’m afraid my checked luggage will be lost.

  19. I am always worried my luggage will be lost after hearing horror stories from friends/relatives. Poor sister-in-law..she had to wear my clothes for days until her luggage arrived….and she’s much taller than I am. What’s more, we live in rural Indiana and at that time there was not a clothing store within 20 miles. 🙁 Poor thing. So yes, it’s always in the back of my mind.

  20. Not a worry as I NEVER check a bag. Very little wear and tear with a carry-on, especially on my Briggs and Riley.

  21. Having had checked bags lost on multiple occasions, I ALWAYS worry about, but especially if I am just an a short layover of a day or 2.

  22. After a few gratis drinks at the lounge bar I don’t worry about a thing, including my luggage.

  23. I try not to worry too much about my tumi bags, but every scar on my bag is painful to me. Can’t the system be more careful?

  24. I typically don’t worry about my checked bags since I don’t put anything too important in them. If it is that important put it in your carry on, even duty free items.

  25. Not really. I suppose it could get lost. And I’ve had one decent rollaboard destroyed when they gate checked it due to lack of overhead space, but Continental was good enough to provide me with a voucher to replace it before I even left the airport.

  26. I worry about the zippers. Once I had a messenger bag whose zipper popped after only my fourth trip through security.

  27. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?
I do hence all valuables always go in the carry-on!

  28. I’m really not worried about my luggage because I don’t put anything valuable inside and my luggage itself is so old and cheap (i.e. I could really use a new one).

  29. Yes, I worry something is going to happen to my luggage….mainly damage to checked luggage….maybe it’s time to try a Briggs and Riley case.

  30. I worry about the wheels falling off after I check it after many, many trips! I’m always looking for a more durable piece of luggage.

  31. I am concerned about checked luggage when I have tight connections; to avoid this I usually only have a carryon.
