Delta Agent Delivers A Message Of Hope To Passengers Mourning Kobe Bryant

A Delta Air Lines agent at New York JFK spoke to passengers waiting to board for Los Angeles shortly after learning about the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter and the rest of the passengers on board a helicopter on Sunday.

The agent, Courtney, implored passengers to cherish the people most important to them in their lives. She told them “if there is someone you haven’t spoken to today, call them. If there is someone you haven’t reached out to in a while, call them” — and not to text, “We’ve got to pick the phone up.”

And she said that’s what they’re about at Delta, “Here at Delta we celebrate life and we celebrate love.” As for the airline, they approved of the message.

  1. This woman is the absolute BEST Delta gate agent. She handled the announcements and boarding on my last flight and she was incredible. The boarding was delayed a few minutes due to cleaning and she was on fire with jokes about how the last set of passengers were messy. That’s the Delta difference.

  2. I had her as a gate agent in October. She was giving restaurant recommendations to passengers heading to Atlanta. I thanked as one of her recommended spots was my client.
