American Express and Uber will give you 2 free rides from major airports through the end of the year valued up to $65 each, using any flavor of Uber you wish.
Register right away adding promo code AMEXAIRPORT in the Uber app, you don’t want them to run out of code uses before you do so. You need to have an Amex card as your payment method when you request a ride (even if the ride is going to be free) for this to work.
Here are the eligible airports:

- Seattle

Not every airport allows Uber, but these all do. I wish I had known about this offer yesterday when I had a pricey airport Uber ride. This promotion doesn’t give you a ride back to the airport. And unfortunately I return home to Austin where we have no Uber or Lyft.

I answered my own question…
Uber will apply discount of up to $65 at the point of sale. Limit 2 discounted rides total per Uber account. If the cost of a ride is less than $65, you will only receive a discount of the cost of a ride and you will not receive the difference between the cost of a ride and $65. If the cost of a ride is more than $65, the remaining balance of the cost will be charged to your Card.
I’m curious what the marketing motivation is to limit to that specific list of airports?
Perhaps the motivation is to break the strong taxi lobbies in those cities.

Thanks Gary. Does anyone know how much a LAS ride to The Strip is/maybe? I’m trying to use this for an upcoming SPG MR. It’s a shame that you can’t use this to go to the airport b/c I would return my vehicle early and save more $$$; thus making my MR less expensive as well as meaningful.

I just took a ride fro LAS to Hilton on the strip- cost- $25. Return trip $35 because of bad traffic. The meter rolls faster than i have ever scene before when stuck in traffic. NO we didn’t go Las Vegas Blvd but got stuck on Paradise Red.
@EricJ — Jimster is correct. First of all, it depends upon WHERE on the Strip you’re headed . . . Mandalay Bay or Delano, at the southern end of the Strip, close to the airport? Bellagio or Cosmopolitan, roughly in the middle of the Strip? Or the Wynn/Encore or the SLS, at the northern end? The CHEAPEST ride I have ever paid from LAS to the Strip in a taxi is $15; most expensive was $32 (as Jimster said, “bad traffic”). And I, too, have had as much as a $10 difference on the meter between airport-to-hotel/hotel-to-airport . . .
Most doormen will tell you that Uber is ALWAYS the better deal . . . BUT you have to pick up the ride in the parking garage.

I am having difficulty adding a Canadian postal code / zip when adding my Amex card as a form of payment. Anyone else having the same issue?
What a pain to actually get the credit…. Successfully added the promo to my Uber app. Rode from SEA this week. Despite what the T&Cs say, the credit was NOT automatically applied to my fare, instead my Amex card was charged the full fare. Uber support has gone WAY downhill too — just a few months ago when I had a small issue with a promo, Uber’s Twitter rep fixed everything very quickly. Now, the Twitter rep refers you to the contact us page and that says 24 hours to respond. Took three emails to finally get an acknowledgment that the promo should have been applied and that I would be getting a refund to my Amex card (of course, no refund has shown up; Uber rep says could take “several days.” Recurring beef of mine: how come companies can charge your credit card instantly but can’t refund instantly?!?)
So, rider beware. You may be in for a frustrating series of emails with Uber to actually get your credit.
