All Airline Fare War: Spain from $343 Roundtrip!

Via Loyalty Traveler,

Several airlines have lowered ticket prices from Boston to Spain to $400 and less for Barcelona and Madrid. KLM/SkyTeam have low $400s for airports across Spain. There are deals with all three alliances. Ticket prices are as low as $343 for Boston to Madrid flying Air Canada on a ticket from an online travel agency found through meta-search sites like Momondo.com and Skyscanner.com.

Low ticket prices are primarily for departures from Jan 9 – May 10, 2017.

You can pretty much find tickets on most of the major airlines starting at $343, and to other destinations besides Barcelona and Madrid for prices in the $400s.

I found these fares using airfare metasearch site Momondo:

Here’s why we’re seeing more deep discount airfare flash sales.

  1. Economic challenges and greater uncertainty. There’s Brexit and terrorism, and that’s all on top of issues faced by Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain.

  2. New competition from low cost carriers. Norwegian and Wow Air, for instance, are driving down transatlantic fares.

  3. Low fuel costs. Airlines are competing aggressively and are able to make money in lower revenue environments.

  4. Pick up incremental business. Short-term sales tend to induce travelers who wouldn’t have flown otherwise, without selling many tickets to people who were going to otherwise buy at a higher price.

When taking advantage of these fares to Spain, if you head to Barcelona, just watch your wallet on Las Ramblas.

  1. Not just Las Ramblas, your wallet is endangered anywhere in Barcelona. Don’t even take one with you. Use a money belt hidden inside your clothing for anything of value. Only have enough cash in your pocket for small purchases. 😉

  2. Really Hun? Using photos of McDonald’s Burger King and sex shows? There is a lot more to Spain that your weird interpretation of it.

  3. When traveling, I have a big fat wallet in my back pants pocket and a slim one in a front pants pocket. One is full of scrap paper and the other has money and a credit card 🙂

    It works.
