Enter Here to Win a Seat on Star MegaDO 4!

BoardingArea is giving away two seats on the upcoming Star MegaDO 4. And the winners will even have their hotel accommodations paid for plus a little spending money as well.

It’s the ultimate frequent flyer adventure. Join a couple hundred of your newest frequent flyer enthusiast friends, meeting with airline executives, getting behind the scenes tours, bringing home amazing souvenirs and memories, and earning bonus elite qualifying miles in the MileagePlus program along the way.

Details of the program were released at the launch party. The event will begin the evening of Tuesday, November 13 in San Francisco. Wednesday flies San Francisco to Houston on the charter, a newly refurbished 767-400. Thursday is Houston to Chicago. And there’ll be plenty of United senior managers involved, other Star Alliance partners in San Francisco, and a whole bunch of major surprises along the way.

Here are official hotel details. Hyatt is a sponsor, and there’s a Hyatt Gold Passport promotion as part of the MegaDO. And there’s an optional Cowboy Day at the end of the MegaDO in Chicago.

For more information on the event, here is Milepoint’s forum for Star MegaDO 4.

January’s oneworld MegaDO was featured on the front page of the business section of USA Today and also in an Associated Press story that hit about 70 papers. Top media are ticketed for this event as well.

So here’s how you can enter..

How it Works: One person will be chosen at random to win an entry from this post. Each participating blog will have one winner. (Other BoardingArea blogs will also be giving away an entry this week.) The two BoardingArea winners will be drawn from the individual entrants chosen on each blog.

What You Need to Do: Answer the question, “Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?” You may only enter once here at View from the Wing. Enter by 11:59pm Mountain time on October 7.

The Prize: A reserved aisle or window seat next to Randy Petersen on the upcoming StarMegaDo 2012, hotel accommodations, and $250 for personal expenses. There will be a total of two total winners chosen at BoardingArea.

Additional details on the contest can be found here. You must be 18 to enter and will be responsible for your own positioning flights (to San Francisco for the start of the MegaDO and back home from Chicago).

So to enter, Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?

And to be clear, this question is just based on ‘what’s new at United’, the airline we’re working with on the charter.

Good luck, and giddy up!

  1. Yes, I am excited. I never fly with 787 before. Hopefully it is going to be my first experience on the new airplane.

  2. Not really. GF is a CA with NH and doesnt like the size of the galley and we both flew to BOS and it much ado about nothing. Dont see anything a US carrier can do to make it better IMHO. but its good to see some news deflected for sure!

  3. Of course I’m looking forward to flying in a new Boeing 787 on United! Aside from living in Seattle and hearing about it all the time, I’m really looking forward to experiencing the higher-humidity and lower pressurization of the 787 cabin.

  4. I’m excited to fly the 787 to see how different the passenger experience is versus older planes. I’m slated to fly on 5 of UA’s inaugural flights, can’t wait to try it out!

  5. I am excited to be one of the first to fly on United’s 787 – cool window ‘shades’, ambient lighting..

  6. I would love to fly on a new Dreamliner and considering the route LAX-NRT is a route I fly occasionally, I’d love it to be on a Dreamliner with United. If I won this contest I would love to meet my fellow enthusiasts and Mr. Peterson.

  7. Excited? An understatement. I travelled quite far just to see the plane that was specially built just to carry parts of the 787. If it is a new plane, I want to be on it.

  8. Yes – we saw the mock-up at Boeing Customer experience center in Jan.. would love to fly in the real thing

  9. I have 2000 Mileage Plus points thanks to milepoint. I’m a lot more interested in United now, and of course a Dreamliner would be worth it!

  10. Yes, new planes are exciting, and this one was sure a long time overdue in coming through production.

  11. No, because I only fly United between SDJ and Guam/Saipan/Hawaii, and I doubt they’ll be putting 787s on those routes anytime soon 😉

  12. I am planning an international trip and would love to include this new plane as part of my itinerary.

  13. I have been on the the 777 767 and the others. I would like to be able to include this plane in an international flight.

  14. As a SkyTeam loyalist, I’m more envious of than excited for United’s new 787. That said, I would love to take a flight on Boeing’s newest jet.

  15. Truthfully I wouldn’t know a 787 from a 767 or a 777 or Airbus. All I know is I enjoy the advances in technology that make the flying experience more enjoyable.

  16. Yes and no. It’s a nice plane that has lots of customer-facing features, rather than just the usual fuel efficiency improvement of a new model. At the same time, I think the amount of effort United is spending on it somewhat understates their work left in customer service or technology.

  17. I AM! The cabin supposedly has higher oxygen content in the air, which will make the flight more comfortable.

  18. I’m excited because United hasn’t really had new planes in years…they just keep dressing up their old aircrafts.

  19. Without a doubt! The 787 is billed as a game-changer. It would be great to experience it on an American carrier!

  20. I’m excited that United is getting their first 787 because it means we are that much closer to AA taking delivery of theirs!

  21. yes I am tremendously excited. Why? More comfort, larger bins, new equipment, lie flats.
