Enter Here to Win a Seat on Star MegaDO 4!

BoardingArea is giving away two seats on the upcoming Star MegaDO 4. And the winners will even have their hotel accommodations paid for plus a little spending money as well.

It’s the ultimate frequent flyer adventure. Join a couple hundred of your newest frequent flyer enthusiast friends, meeting with airline executives, getting behind the scenes tours, bringing home amazing souvenirs and memories, and earning bonus elite qualifying miles in the MileagePlus program along the way.

Details of the program were released at the launch party. The event will begin the evening of Tuesday, November 13 in San Francisco. Wednesday flies San Francisco to Houston on the charter, a newly refurbished 767-400. Thursday is Houston to Chicago. And there’ll be plenty of United senior managers involved, other Star Alliance partners in San Francisco, and a whole bunch of major surprises along the way.

Here are official hotel details. Hyatt is a sponsor, and there’s a Hyatt Gold Passport promotion as part of the MegaDO. And there’s an optional Cowboy Day at the end of the MegaDO in Chicago.

For more information on the event, here is Milepoint’s forum for Star MegaDO 4.

January’s oneworld MegaDO was featured on the front page of the business section of USA Today and also in an Associated Press story that hit about 70 papers. Top media are ticketed for this event as well.

So here’s how you can enter..

How it Works: One person will be chosen at random to win an entry from this post. Each participating blog will have one winner. (Other BoardingArea blogs will also be giving away an entry this week.) The two BoardingArea winners will be drawn from the individual entrants chosen on each blog.

What You Need to Do: Answer the question, “Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?” You may only enter once here at View from the Wing. Enter by 11:59pm Mountain time on October 7.

The Prize: A reserved aisle or window seat next to Randy Petersen on the upcoming StarMegaDo 2012, hotel accommodations, and $250 for personal expenses. There will be a total of two total winners chosen at BoardingArea.

Additional details on the contest can be found here. You must be 18 to enter and will be responsible for your own positioning flights (to San Francisco for the start of the MegaDO and back home from Chicago).

So to enter, Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?

And to be clear, this question is just based on ‘what’s new at United’, the airline we’re working with on the charter.

Good luck, and giddy up!

  1. Of course I am excited. The only thing better than “new car smell” is “new plane smell.”

  2. Yes, I’m hoping that the UA 787s will come with the bidets found on the ANA 787s, hehe. You’ve got to try everything once.

  3. Undoubtedly. I heard the windows are 60% bigger. I have always flown excitedly in window seat in all my flights !

  4. Yes, I am always flying international carriers, and now with my ultimate rewards points I will try to fly on the new 787 ASAP

  5. Darn straight I’m excited! I can’t wait to experience better air and larger windows, hopefully in business class.

  6. I’m definitely excited to see United taking deliveries of 787’s and seeing what new routes they are able to add to their network (either using the 787s or the widebodies they free up by deploying them on existing routes).

  7. Yes, I’m definitely excited about a plane that can help reduce jet lag on long flights!

  8. I’m not excited to fly it in coach. I suspect I’ll go out of my way to sample NH/JL’s business class products before I try UA’s 787’s.

  9. Yes, I’m always excited at new equipment. I only hope there is no loss of pitch for economy class.

  10. I am excited about united’s new 787 because this question might earn me an entry to win a seat by randy!

  11. I don’t have strong feelings because I collect miles primarily on AS so I rarely fly *A carriers.

  12. Yes, I’m excited, since UA is my primary carrier and I’d love to see and hear more 787s out in the wild.

  13. Yes I am excited for United’s new 787, because I think it will allow for my skin to become less dry when flying.

  14. Yes I am excited about the United 787. More excited than I was to Meet Randy – which was a lot! Growing up and living in Iowa, United was my way out so I have a long love of United (My husband & I flew Global First to AMS this spring to see the Tulips)

And very excited for the 787. After following the development since the Sonic Cruiser morphed into the 787, we toured the factory in July this year, in August I won a contest at IAD to welcome the 1st 787 commercial flight where we got to get up close and personal with Ethiopian Airline’s new 787 (I can send pics of me in front of the engine and enjoying champagne in the business class seat as well as the beautiful wing) BTW knocking my knuckle on the fuselage does sound like plastic.

UNITED 787: I’m booked for a December weekend RT in BusinessFirst EWR-IAH-SFO-IAH-DEN 14 hours worth of Flying.

And I have 787 squeeze toys for all the contest judges 🙂

    Thanks!

  15. Yes so I can use some of my miles that I have saved up with tips from these blogs on a brand new plane!

  16. Major league excited! Believe it or not, the band I play in is called Dreamliner! (Look up Dreamliner Band on Facebook if you’re skeptical).

  17. Five years is a long time. But, pessimisim aside, we are all going to keep finding ways to travel the world through incredible deals. Especially by communicating great finds instantly throughout our unique, if diverse and sometimes fragmented, community. Its always going to be too hard for the average traveller to follow this fastinating pursuit.

  18. I am very excited for the United’s delivery of their new 787. I have a passion for flight and always interested in checking out the newest aircrafts!

  19. Excited…um…Yes! I’m a loyal United flyer and for me the 787 is ground breaking. I hope I get to sit in it one day soon. For now, I can only dream.

  20. Yes, it sounds like a fantastic plane and my heart’s in San Francisco, my mind is in Houston, and my spirit is in Chicago.

  21. Excited? Somewhat, because it’s not on all routes but all the new flyer friendly features are attractive.

  22. Any time an airline is upgrading I’m excited. I may not be as much a plane geek as others, but a good product is better than an average one.

  23. Certainly excited to fly on the 787. Hoping it’s the first plane quiet enough that I can fly without my Bose headphones (I still can’t figure out a comfy sleep position dangit).

  24. Definitely will be awesome to have a more fuel efficient and modern plane in the air. Love the new window shades and the led lighting.

  25. Very excited – as a newbie to the travel world, I’m excited to try out new products and see the latest and greatest!
