Enter Here to Win a Seat on Star MegaDO 4!

BoardingArea is giving away two seats on the upcoming Star MegaDO 4. And the winners will even have their hotel accommodations paid for plus a little spending money as well.

It’s the ultimate frequent flyer adventure. Join a couple hundred of your newest frequent flyer enthusiast friends, meeting with airline executives, getting behind the scenes tours, bringing home amazing souvenirs and memories, and earning bonus elite qualifying miles in the MileagePlus program along the way.

Details of the program were released at the launch party. The event will begin the evening of Tuesday, November 13 in San Francisco. Wednesday flies San Francisco to Houston on the charter, a newly refurbished 767-400. Thursday is Houston to Chicago. And there’ll be plenty of United senior managers involved, other Star Alliance partners in San Francisco, and a whole bunch of major surprises along the way.

Here are official hotel details. Hyatt is a sponsor, and there’s a Hyatt Gold Passport promotion as part of the MegaDO. And there’s an optional Cowboy Day at the end of the MegaDO in Chicago.

For more information on the event, here is Milepoint’s forum for Star MegaDO 4.

January’s oneworld MegaDO was featured on the front page of the business section of USA Today and also in an Associated Press story that hit about 70 papers. Top media are ticketed for this event as well.

So here’s how you can enter..

How it Works: One person will be chosen at random to win an entry from this post. Each participating blog will have one winner. (Other BoardingArea blogs will also be giving away an entry this week.) The two BoardingArea winners will be drawn from the individual entrants chosen on each blog.

What You Need to Do: Answer the question, “Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?” You may only enter once here at View from the Wing. Enter by 11:59pm Mountain time on October 7.

The Prize: A reserved aisle or window seat next to Randy Petersen on the upcoming StarMegaDo 2012, hotel accommodations, and $250 for personal expenses. There will be a total of two total winners chosen at BoardingArea.

Additional details on the contest can be found here. You must be 18 to enter and will be responsible for your own positioning flights (to San Francisco for the start of the MegaDO and back home from Chicago).

So to enter, Are you excited for United’s new 787? And if so, why?

And to be clear, this question is just based on ‘what’s new at United’, the airline we’re working with on the charter.

Good luck, and giddy up!

  1. I’m excited only because it is a 787. Absolutely not excited about United. But I’ll still fly it just for the novelty.

  2. I’m excited to fly on United’s new 787! Why? I went to a party at Steve Udvar-Hazy’s house (in Beverly Park, a gated community off Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills, natch!) and he was talking up the 787 all night long (in between doing huge rails that were as long as his arm, that is). (SU-H is an aircraft leasing titan, just FYI)

  3. Yes, I am excited about it! Love the little improvements I am reading about – electric shades, fresh air, new windows. Looks like a cool plane.

  4. Yes. Most especially for the better air filtration and overhead space improvements. Noise reduction is great, but I put in plugs or headphones anyway, so that’s mostly a wash.

  5. we watched whole sections being flown into the Washington state factory during a factory tour last year. I’d like to see if they actually fit together!

  6. I am an x B727 pilot , and would love to fly the B787 and take a look at the cockpit to see how much things changed.

  7. No, not United’s. I am excited to fly the 787 on NH, in J, but I don’t care for United’s 2-2-2 non-staggered layout.

  8. Yes. I’m looking foward to a new type of flight experience where my contacts don’t get dry

  9. I’m excited that United has the 787 to get positive excitement about, instead of all the negative issues they’ve been facing since the merger.

  10. This would be a LOVELY opportunity to meet and thank the folks who have inspired and taught me how to travel with less money. If it was not for you folks (View from the Wing), I NEVER would have been able to afford to go to places I have dreamed about. If I win and am able to go, I might pick up more hints and ideas on how to travel EVEN MORE with my loved ones. Thanks for all you do View from the Wing!

  11. oops, I forgot! The reason I am excited for United’s new 787 is because I LOOOOVE checking out brand-new or refurbished planes and all their features. I have not flown United in awhile and would like to see how they compare to other airlines.

  12. YES, becasue Jeff Smisek keeps telling me that I will feel so much more alive and fresh from cabin pressurized at 6,000ft…we’ll see Jeff.

  13. Yes! I grew up in Seattle and always love to see each new model. My father just retired from a long career at Boeing, and loved attending employee family day every year – I remember when they rolled out the 767. He’s now a docent at their Flight Museum, I’m taking my first tour in years this weekend.

  14. Honestly, not really. I care much more about the destination than the metal that gets me there.

  15. Having been on CO’s BF lie flats, Trying the 787 for the first time in the same product will allow me to note the differences between a 787 and other planes.

  16. Who could pass up flying on United’s brand new plane? I would look forward to talking with Randy while flying!
