Club Avolta offers up to 10% discounts on airport shopping and I have to admit I’d never heard of it before StatusMatch.com started promoting a status match campaign. Anyone with a pulse elite status can have 12 months of their Platinum status. It’s a free offer.
Generally speaking, any airline elite status qualifies – think everything from United Silver and American Gold to Biman Bangladesh Airlines Silver and Royal Brunei Silver. Hotel status is eligible, too, though you generally need mid-tier for that – IHG Gold, Marriott Gold, Accor Gold Hyatt Explorist and Best Western Platinum all count.
The shopping and duty free discounts may not appeal on their own but Club Avolta has a few partner benefits that could prove valuable.
- Hotel status with Radisson Rewards Europe Club Avolta Platinum matches to the Radisson VIP tier.
- Avis status Avolta Platinum matches to Avis President’s Club.
- 25% off Plaza Premium paid lounge access 3 times per year.
Since there’s no cost to participate, taking them up on the offer seems like an easy move to get Avis President’s Club and Radisson Hotels status which might be useful to match elsewhere. (And you can use Avis status to match to another rental car chain if you prefer that as well.)
Not sure if I’ll ever use this but hey, it’s free and within 20 minutes I’m already a Platinum. Thanks!
Interesting. Gary, what is the process for getting Avis to status match via Club Avolta or does that only get recognized if you book through CA?
Same question.
Yeah, I have no idea how Avis knows about the status. The link provided simply says:
Match your member status and save 10% with Avis Preferred
If you use the app (Club Avolta app), then pick an airport/location, then find Avis, then click the link, it SEEMS you enroll with the link within the app:
“Enjoy up to 10% discount on Avis REntals, plus exclusive benefits, when you sign up to Avis Preferred’s President’s Club via the “Enroll Now” link below. *Terms and Conditions Apply
Update to my above comment:
Using the app on iOS. I go to the Enroll Now.
It has a section that says “Are you already an Avis Preferred Member”? If you are, then click here to link your new benefits to so you can enjoy them straight away! When I click here, I get an “oops, something went wrong”.
Your other option is the one above, which tells you to Join Avis Preferred. I’ll see what happens if I put a diff email in.
Seems the Avis deal is ONLY allowed for the following countries:
Austria
Belgium
The Czech Republic
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Luxembourg
The Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Portugal
South Africa
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Turkey
United Kingdom
So this doesn’t work for anyone who lives in the USA or other countries not listed above.
@mjonis Thanks for the detective work. It’s a shame that benefit doesn’t apply to the US members.
