After coming across United Airlines recipes from the 1990s and their coach class collaboration with chef Sheila Lukins on ebay I started wondering whether United was still selling the amazing Polaris cookbook?
I started thinking that my dinner parties could use some new recipes featuring “the ingredients, techniques and flavors of” United Polaris on board dining. Don’t tell my wife, she’s a former professional chef. But shouldn’t we all have a ‘seasonal salad’ in our repertoire that is the same every season?
And since United pretty much doesn’t make saver awards available in international business class, if you can’t fly up front you can at least enjoy United quality meals at home.
I fired up the United shop, did a quick search, and found that the Polaris Cookbook is on clearance. In fact it’s marked down 30%!
Don’t hurry, no need to rush, as of this writing they’re still stuck with 450 copies of the thing. Still, it’s never to early to start thinking about Christmas. This might have actually been my Christmas present to employees at another airline in 2018…
I’ve always wondered what that food was supposed to taste like…
Maybe they’ll throw this into their employee severance package.
When shipping cost is more than half the purchase price of the product….plus taxes.
Given that I’m pretty sure you and I were the top purchasers of said Polaris Cookbook, I’m shocked they only have 450 left.
Even at a 30% discount, still do not recommend…
You can get the cookbook and Apron set for a bit more, also on sale.
A perfect gift for the MIL unless you like her. Not only would you imply that she doesn’t know how to cook in general, but that United’s airline food is actually a notable improvement on what she makes. Your wife might not find it that amusing though.
Wouldn’t even consider taking one even it was free to me
It’s a talent to design a recipe that can be made well before it is served.
