News and notes from around the interweb:
- He’s ba-ack…? Racist burger king was my favorite misbehaving passenger of the pandemic. This version has the crown, and the hair, but the face is a little different – a cousin perhaps? Looks like a Colorado Buffaloes logo on the seat back.
This fine gentleman just boarded our 12 hours flight. Wish us a pleasant flyte
byu/No-Sell-3064 inShittyaskflying - Global Airlines offers to status match. Okey dokey. You have to book a flight with them this year for the match, but they don’t have an air operator’s certificate, let alone slots and gates.
- Reasonable pick, but surely Circus Circus is worse and technically part of the Strip?

Worst Strip Property: Luxor Las Vegas
With a casino that feels like it's buried deeper underground than a fallout nuclear shelter, less wins in its casino this year than the Las Vegas Raiders (who's seen one?) And not a single restaurant… pic.twitter.com/YpPr0yG3LY

- TGI Friday’s sells Dallas Airport Outlets for $34.5 Million. TGI’s and Radisson Hotels used to share a loyalty program! Your points transfer ratio to airline miles depended on whether you signed up through the hotel or the restaurant, and you could redeem small numbers of points for appetizers!
- He says he was kicked off his Southwest Airlines flight for the Trump hat, not the a*hole shirt
I flew 2 southwest flight getting there with no problems
I did add a new hat which she said offends some people
Trump voters should not fly on Southwest I quest— John Robb (@lbjrobb) January 2, 2025
- The hotel voucher an airline will give you during an overnight delay that their fault just is not worth it…
@united UA1949 12:28/24 here’s the line at Holiday Inn at 2 am when 90% of the line was people with vouchers. They were told they didn’t have any more “voucher” rooms. Why did you give some people vouchers but won’t refund me?? Nightmare service. Shame on you. pic.twitter.com/I23fnHMWqb

The ‘voucher’ scam is real. I’ve had to pay outright, then send the invoice for the hotel for reimbursement. Pay with credit card. Don’t use hotel points, because then the airline won’t reimburse you. If all else fails, request courtesy miles, and try to recoup what you paid. Once again, if we had a standardized compensation scheme for delayed and canceled flights caused by the airlines, we would have better protections against these games. Right now, they’re ‘too big to care.’
Circus Circus is on the strip (usually assumed to start at Sahara but the Strat claims to be on it also) but my vote goes to Excalibur. It isn’t known as the dirty castle for no reason. Also rates are lower there than Luxor so even MGM/Mirage knows it is worse
Maybe people who voted for Mango Mussolini and Hillbilly Bear shouldn’t fly WN. That’s probably the one thing that might get me to fly them again. Plus the smell inside the plane will be better.
12 hours on a single-aisle jet? Maybe with stop(s) and continuing on same jet.
I am.going to Vegas 1st week March. I noticed the Luxor has obscene rates (for it).that week.- $263/nt all-in, and pre-paid only saves $5/nt.
@GaryLeff — Not sure if you know (or particularly care), but you made the NY Post today.

The guy in the crown is obviously not the Covid era racist. You’re just creating BS. The young man in question is a player for CU on a United charter and I hope he sues you for defamation. You should remove that garbage.
This article is too fragmented with ads and other weird stuff (like apparent tweets) to read, but I will say this about vouchers:
I have had two Delta flights delayed overnight due to mechanical problems. Both times Delta arranged for transportation, hotels, and food. Super-smooth; no problems. Picked us up and put us on a flight next day. My advice, FWIW – fly Delta.
ChampChaz’s tweet about the Luxor says, “Even the monorail skips this stop and goes straight to Mandalay Bay.”
The Las Vegas Monorail runs on the east side of the Strip, while the Luxor and Mandalay Bay are on the west side of the Strip. So the monorail doesn’t go to Mandalay Bay.
There is a tram that serves Mandalay Bay, but it also has a stop at Luxor.
