Canada can’t guarantee that its own Prime Minister’s plane will make it where it’s going, but the Government of Japan has publicly offered assurances that Taylor Swift will be able to perform in Tokyo and still make it in plenty of time to the Super Bowl.

I recently explained how it’s possible for Ms. Swift to complete her show in Tokyo and arrive in Las Vegas before that show is even over: time travel. Or, more specifically, the International Date Line. You can depart Tokyo and arrive in Las Vegas before you left.
This is something that happens all the time, but it’s much easier when you’re chartering a plane and picking the flight times.

Taylor Swift performs in Japan the night before the Super Bowl. It will end around 10pm Tokyo time (5 am Las Vegas time).
The flight from Tokyo to Vegas takes 12 hours, meaning Swift can arrive at 5pm local on the day before the Super Bowl, 25 hours, 35 mins before kickoff.

Taylor Swift has broadened out interest in football, and the Super Bowl. This year there will be more fans than ever. And the world will be watching her race against time to make it from her fans to her boyfriend. She needn’t worry about air traffic control delays along the way. The Japanese government has given her official priority.

Her disdain for Trump and the MAGA sect is worth rooting for, as is her impact on the US economy. Her mediocre music and the Taylor/Tavis thing is all overhyped and vacuous.
It is reasonable to conclude she will have no issues flying out of Japan on time, but landing in Vegas may involve having to pull a few strings. Of course, if she lands in Nellis, half the country will be up in arms.
