My First Twitter Giveaway

As I mentioned the other day, having enjoyed giving away the free Hilton hotel night, I thought I’d try some other giveaways. And for variety, I’m testing out giveaways on Twitter.

To see how it works out, I’m starting small, giving away a US Airways club pass. I just posted the following:

RT this &follow @garyleff 4 chance 2win USAirways Club pass (exp July) on 3/1. Enter up2 5x/day.

  1. At the risk of sounding ungrateful, besides the giveaways, what is the value proposition for me in signing up for your tweets? I’m already a loyal reader. I have your blog RSS feed on my browser home page, so I see any new posts several times a day. It’s very rare that you’ll post something that requires immediate action (minutes and not hours). So my current choice of how to read your blog seems to meet all my needs. Why are you giving incentive to read via twitter instead, other than an ego boost from being better able to count your followers?

  2. @swag it’s more about my playing with and learning more about different social media, and so i’m offering folks some giveaways to play along with me. Totally optional of course !
