- With airlines cancelling service to Cuba, some of the bleeding has stopped for the airlines who continue their routes. Cuba is a tough market, not just because of new restrictions on American travel. Demand really comes from just one side the route (the US), it’s virtually all leisure business, and facilities in Cuba are limited. So of course 5 airlines want to add more flights to Cuba.

From the NYT article: “And what do the names Element, Four Points, Homewood, TownePlace and Delta mean to you? They’re among the 30, so they seem to mean a lot to Marriott.”
Ah yes, the Homewood by Marriott. Oh wait, that’s not a Marriott brand.
From the Horizon article it appears Horizon wrote that article and not an independent reporter whom if they queried AS’s FF’s they would have a slightly differing opinion. They are working their schedule because of Skywest whom brought back some really old metal to fly the schedule. The Horizon flights themselves are still lagging and their crews are tired. I use Horizon every other week. I still think there was a huge failure at the top of the airline for not having the foresight to see this coming, especially when they were losing pilots to the freight business. I have a friend who is a check pilot for one of the two majors and he tells me their coming over at a steady clip.
Anyway Horizon is still very much behind the power curb, or should I say Sky West?
