My Favorite Way to Travel

I’m not going to lie I love international first class, and especially flying Etihad’s First Apartment. But at most I do that a few times a year, so that’s not what makes the bulk of my travels better.

I slog it out with well north of 100 flights a year, most of that is domestic. And there’s one thing that makes my travel better than anything else: not checking a bag, but more importantly not needing overhead bin space.

Delta’s VIP Select Services Screws Up, Singer John Legend’s Clothes Stolen

Singer John Legend’s bag was snatched at New York JFK airport Thursday evening around 9 p.m. Initially it was erroneously reported to have been taken by a cab driver who was going to take Legend into the city, however that turned out to be false — unsurprisingly Legend had a pre-arranged driver.

His bag contained “a pair of Cartier Panther cuff links with clear and green stones, valued at $30k. The clothes inside were valued at $500, and there was a $500 pair of eyeglasses.”

Airline Food Used to Be Gross, Now We Pine For It

Delta used to offer SkyDeli and America West had Snack Sac. On a short flight in coach you’d pick up a bag with food on your way down the jetway. That saved work for the flight attendants and still let the airline feed you.

American Airlines had Bistro Bags. I spotted one of the old carts, not in use since around 2004, at New York JFK late last month.
