Prince Harry Flies To London Without Meghan Markle, Will Exit Quarantine Early

The U.K.’s Prince Philip, who passed away last week at age 99, thought travel in economy class was ‘ghastly’. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, though, have flown British Airways coach before, however.

Prince Harry, himself no longer a royal, flew Los Angeles – London Heathrow on Saturday. He reportedly arrived in London at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. While it’s reported he flew British Airways, the 1:15 p.m. arriving from Los Angeles is actually an American Airlines flight (AA134).

[Harry was] seen leaving..[home] on Saturday night in a black Cadillac Escalade to board an early-hours flight from LA, and disembarking a BA plane in chinos, a jacket and black face mask at the west London airport around 10 hours later at 1.15pm GMT yesterday.

Meghan Markle, pregnant with the couples’ second child, did not accompany Harry on the trip to his grandfather’s funeral. The excuse given is that her doctor has advised against travel due to the pregnancy, though she isn’t due until summer. It will be awkward enough for Harry to show up after a worldwide media firestorm walking away from the royal family, and then appearing on Oprah recently trashing his family. There’s no way she could have gone, too. Perhaps presaging her royal break, Markle eschewed British Airways in favor of flying Air Canada in 2018.

He may no longer be a royal but as Mel Brooks once said, “it’s good to be king.” He’s been given an exception to the U.K.’s quarantine on arrival rules. He’d have had to isolate himself for 10 days, or 5 days with a negative Covid-19 test, otherwise. He’ll be permitted to attend his grandfather’s funeral on April 17th either way exiting quarantine ‘on compassionate grounds’.

  1. “The excuse given” … come on. You are better than that. It’s no an excuse, it’s reality. Not too smart for a pregnant woman to fly with a global pandemic going on. But she is getting a ton of flak for not going. Would have gotten same for going. There is no winning with the tabloids.

  2. Harry’s flight could have been VS 24. Britain is now on Summer Time, which is GMT+1. The Virgin flight arrived at 14:15 BST. Of course, the writer could have confused GMT and BST, which would make the AA flight the one transporting Harry.

  3. What is this “exception” you speak of? He is quarantining per the requirements with test-out, albeit at Frogmore Cottage instead of a managed hotel, which is allowed.

  4. Has he started paying US taxes on his British income yet? He gets a substantial amount from Charles.

  5. This is BS. Everyone is exempt from England’s quarantine rules to attend a funeral.

  6. As Sovereign The Queen could exempt anyone or everyone from the quarantine rules, although it’s extremely unlikely she ever would. And Harry is “Royal” forever (it’s his birthright) although he no longer has any Royal duties.

  7. “The excuse given” … come on. You are better than that. It’s no an excuse, it’s reality….”
Exactly, Mon! She also experienced a miscarriage previous to this child so her risk is higher than average. Plus the pandemic! Man, people are so hard up about this girl. If she went , everyone would be saying she is a horrible mother for endangering the life of her unborn child!

  8. The way I read the excerpt the first time I thought it said, “disembarking a BA plane in chinos, a jacket and black face”

    Now that would be awkward!
