News and notes from around the interweb:
- Since Live and Let’s Fly flags that United CEO Scott Kirby was appointed to the Homeland Security Advisory Council I figured it was worth flagging that incoming American Airlines CEO Robert Isom was appointed as well:
- Using Capital One transfers for Virgin Hotels and cruises
- Report of Chase offering the ability to reallocate credit lines when applying for a new card. Whenever I apply for a Chase card they do a reallocation themselves because they don’t want to give me more credit. Choosing a reallocation myself is better.
- Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is making it tough for people vaccinated with Sputnik to travel since the World Health Organization has had limited flight options to visit vaccine manufacturing facilities inside the country. (Skift)
- 9-year-old tourist sucker-punched in random NYC assault, hero doorman stops suspect from fleeing
- The American Airlines investment in Gol has been approved by Brazil’s regulator
I have been reallocating my own credit lines with Chase on new card apps for years…
Same here, nothing new
They have done this FOR YEARS.
Yet another absolutely terrible article from Gary Leff. That anyone considers him an expert is shocking.
Capital One still doesn’t allow re-allocation and their approval and line increase process is wonky.
If they give you a small line they won’t increase until you constantly max it out and pay them a bunch of interest. If you have a 750+ score I was rejected for a line increase because I don’t use the card enough. I don’t use the card cause the line is too small. Tried to move Quicksilver line to Venture and was told no process to do that
Don’t listen to the haters, Gary. VFTW is by far the most consistently helpful travel blog out there. To Matt above – if you don’t believe he’s an expert, why are you even reading his posts?
