Robert DeNiro Claims His Assistant Stole 5 Million Delta Miles, Which He Values At 4.3 Cents Apiece

Robert DeNiro says his assistant stole 5 million Delta SkyMiles from his account. A lawsuit previously claimed it was 7 million miles, valued at 4.3 cents apiece.

He says his former assistant-turned-Vice President of Production and Finance, who is suing him, misappropriated company funds including using the corporate Amex for personal trips. She says that as his $300,000 a year personal assistant he had unreasonable expectations (like ordering UberEats for him at 11 p.m.) and creepy ones (like scratching his back).

In the former case that’s what a three hundred thousand dollar assistant does. In the latter case, that’s stopped being acceptable. Hollywood star culture meets #MeToo and past behaviors are being revisited.

But boundaries here seem to have been crossed in both directions, as she’s accused of using an American Express at his expense to cover her dog sitting, groceries, Pilates classes, and more including European vacation expenses and rental cars.

What’s most striking to me, though, because Hollywood intrigue means very little is that DeNiro values SkyMiles at 4.3 cents apiece, overstating their worth by a factor of four. There’s no mileage currency worth 4 cents apiece, and SkyMiles is among the less valuable currencies.

In my experience in many cases as an expert witness (including involving Delta currencies) lawyers involved are often very confused when it comes to miles and points.

  1. 5 million miles stolen
Let’s be real hardly 5 cents a mile
5 mil equals 2 coach tickets to Atlanta on Delta

  2. I saw him years ago in the AA Flagship Lounge at JFK. Now I know why.

Maybe Delta will offer to gift his stolen miles to MQDs at 1% ratio (5,000,000 miles = 50,000 MQDs).

  3. How could an elitist leftist climate change activist possibly accumulate so many frequent flier miles? Certainly not by flying, because airlines and oil companies are evil, don’t you know.

  4. Bobby thought theyb were worth $20 billion or something.

He needs to be told….Skypesos are worth tenth of a Zimbabwean dollar.

  5. To demonstrate how out of his ever loving mind
    DeNiro is, he was paying
$300,000 a year for this personal assistant!

  6. FINALLY a posted picture that readers can use.

This is from a GREAT, GREAT movie, “Midnight Run” circa 1987.

Real men will enjoy immensely if you haven’t seen it, is worth tracking down and rewatching.

  7. Yeah Manny, so did almost half the country. I sure didn’t vote for corrupt senile Joe.

Manny is probably one of those leftists that is confused about its gender. That’s all you need to know about it.

  8. There was no policy in place for use of the sky miles…previous court documents show they had an “honor system” in place where she was allowed to use them. During her employment there was no issue on when/what/how many miles she could use so his claim after she litigated is likely not valid. More importantly when you over value a claim in court you usually get nothing, finally his counter suit could be considered retaliation.

  9. There is an old proverb that says “if there is one asshole at work, they are probably an asshole; but if you conflict with everyone at work, they are probably not the problem”.
