  1. America’s infrastructure is more akin to that of a developing country and far from first rate, but Austin’s airport takes the cake for being one of the absolute worse facilities in the country. The “greatest nation the world has ever seen” and a “beacon of democracy the world over” has some of the very worst airports you will find anywhere.

  2. I’m with Gary, my home airport too, and if you know how to walk to the Rideshare area it’s a simple (and cool) walk.

  3. @Marcela, I’m no expert on airport design, but I suspect a lot about the “friendliness” of airports is the result of timing issues. If you open an airport 100 years ago and the community grows around it, you are limited in your solutions. Nobody gets a blank slate (think how old DFW and DEN are). Airports were designed before they anticipated today’s number, current TSA screening, ride share, etc.

  4. I fly out of SFO and take a Uber/Lyft to the Airport and a Taxi on the way back. The Taxi is the quickest option and these days the prices are about the same.

  5. @Al … Depends on where you reside . What if you live in Sacramento , for example ?

  6. ORD screwed uber so bad that anybody local knows to just go the taxi line and eat the extra 5-10 bucks

  7. Agree with Dave W. The real issue with our airports is that they were built many years ago and often weren’t designed for the number of flights that we squeeze through them each day.

  8. If you flew Delta you can avoid these overcrowding issues according to Tim Dunn

  9. At least Love Field has moving sidewalks…oh wait, I’ve never seen every one of them working at the same time!
