A former Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300 is being offered for sale on Facebook.
The plane was delivered to Southwest in October 1995 and named for the airline’s first Vice President of Maintenance Jack Vidal. It was parked in September 2017. It is currently stored in Victorville, California and it can be yours for an asking price of $550,000. Just bring your own CFM56-3C1 engines.
Southwest Airlines almost became a DC-9 airline instead of flying Boeing 737s and the airline’s first big investor wanted Southwest to buy a Boeing 707,
but only if a hole could be cut out of the top of it where they could install a pressurized, clear plastic chamber. It would be big enough for at least two seats that could be hoisted through the opening on some kind of elevator so their occupants could scan Heaven from 40,000 feet up.
Anyone interested in a classic Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 might try to fly it – or turn it into an Airbnb, with or without the skylight.

Why are Russians brokering this? Odd. Is there not an established supplier of these aircraft in the U.S. that markets them for parts, scrap, etc?
