‘Stormed The Cockpit’: Homeland Security Arrests Delta Pilot Moments After Landing In San Francisco

Delta Air Lines flight 2809 from Minneapolis to San Francisco had to go around and attempt to land a second time due to low visibility in fog, and was delayed about 9 minutes, but was otherwise like any other flight – until it reached the gate.

A passenger onboard reports that 10 law enforcement officers, including Homeland Security Investigations officers, “stormed to the front” of the aircraft as soon as the Boeing 757 arrived and “grabbed/arrested” one of the pilots.

The remaining pilot suggested to those who asked that “he had no idea what just happened.” Unsurprisingly, he wasn’t given a heads up that this was happening because that would have also tipped his colleague in the cockpit with him.

Delta Pilot Watches His Colleague Get Removed From The Aircraft

Here are the officers leaving the aircraft.

A Delta spokesperson declined to comment, deferring to law enforcement. The Department of Homeland Security has not yet responded to an inquiry.

This comes days after a Delta pilot was arrested in Stockholm for failing a breathalyzer test prior to departure, although there are reports that test may have been in error.

  1. For a second I thought that was John Stewart making a cameo. I can’t imagine what the pilot did to deserve this.

  2. That seems excessive. Hope there will be more details about this soon.

Also, Gary, at the end of your post, didn’t you mean Stockholm (you said, Amsterdam, then linked to the Delta pilot breathalyzer fiasco in Sweden at Arlanda, ARN, airport)?

  3. They couldn’t wait until this person got off the plane and quietly did it? I used to be so proud that unlike many countries we did not have an internal police department. No more, but the good old USA is not a fascist sounding “Homeland”.

  4. @drrichard

Absolutely correct. However the opportunity to bag a rich airline pilot in front of the passengers got their juices going.

  5. Go arounds are supposed to be a no-fault safety item. If this keeps happening to pilots who choose to execute go-arounds, there will be serious erosion of safety margins as pilots choose to force landings they shouldn’t. Troubling situation!

  6. @drrichard – playing Devil’s Advocate, if the pilot knew something was up, he may have tried to slip out with the passengers by changing in the lav. But that aside, I’m pretty sure the theater was intentional.

  7. Right now the why for the napping of the pilot is unknown. But if it was serious, like an Epstein kind of thing, yes they should arrest him upon the door being opened. If said individual got wind of what was to go down it could have gotten ugly quick. But again everything right now is just speculation.

  8. @Tim ja — Them’s fightin’ words to our pal, @Tim Dunn. Yet, it’s something he and his foes, United fanboys @MaxPower & @JL, have in common. After all, AA is the only one of the ‘big three’ to retire its 757s and 767s (in 2020). On the 757s, Delta’s oldest (N649DL), United’s oldest (N502UA) were delivered 1989! On the 767s, Delta’s oldest (N171DN) from 1990, and United’s (N641UA) from 1991. While Delta’s 763s ‘feel’ like they have the original seats (but, before it was those ‘BusinessElite’ seats, still lie-flat, and before that, recliners); at least United retrofitted all of their 767s with Polaris (1-1-1 seat configuration in business class.)

  9. That many cops? I’m putting money on either an alleged violent offense or some sort of alleged serious crime against a minor. We shall see.

  10. More federal theater. Unless the passengers were in danger (hard to imagine, since he just landed the plane safely), then authorities could have simply let the passengers get off as normal then quietly arrested him on the jetway. The passengers would not have even known it occurred. But, of course, this gave TSA an opportunity to play cop and to make it look like they actually do something.

  11. @Ron – TSA can’t arrest anyone. They are not law enforcement officers and lack the authority to make arrests. This was (at least in part as reported) Homeland Security. Not the same agency.

  12. This cannot be because of the go around. Go arounds are maybe not good but certainly needed. If this person needed this level of attention to arrest, why did they even let him fly the plane at first? This feels gestapo like. Thanks a lot Obama.

  13. This short article leaves us all asking, “What happened?”
But also that that short video clip shows nothing.

  14. What is the world coming to when white men are now arrested by the government?

  15. @Mike Hunt — Speaking of “alleged serious crime against a minor(s),” it sure would be nice to see actual accountability, regardless of background, affiliation, partisanship, or wealth; however, I’d be skeptical if it turns out ‘oh, look, only my political opponents and perceived enemies’ do bad things; my ‘team’ is clean, of course. Naw, if they baddies, get ‘em all out, with due process, of course.

  16. Guys, the “go around” part of the story is just some story-telling context, it OBVIOUSLY (I say that in caps as it’s apparently NOT obvious) had nothing to do with the arrest. There’s simply no way 10x law enforcement officials including various federal agents got to the gate by the time the door opened for a go-around.

That said, if there were 10 law enforcement officers that would be incredibly ridiculous, there’s no space on a plane for that many people to be useful.

My guess given the federal agents is the pilot was smuggling something into the country on another occasion.

  17. Gary – to clarify your article….the DL pilot was arrested recently in Stockholm-Arlanda, not Amsterdam.

  18. Perhaps the pilot had visited Cuba? When arrest quotas are in place anyone could become target. This administration wants to keep everyone fearful of deportation, non existent gangs and the simple truth. That is the only way he can control us.

  19. Someone forged his grandparents’ signature at Ellis Island

There is no plane like the 757 if performance is even halfway part of what you want in aviation. It will be a sad day when the last 757 flight takes off.

  20. @Tim Dunn — Quick! Back to 2004! We must save the 757 line; get them to just change out the engines for something more fuel efficient, and it’ll last longer than the 737… oh, sorry, some guy formerly from McDonnell Douglas says ‘no.’ Darn. He says, ‘let’s just add bigger engines to the 737…’ what could possibly go wrong… *facepalm*

  21. @drrichard: Exactly!

In any other ‘civilized’ country the law enforcement would’ve waited quietly outside the gate.

I don’t understand the bombastic, brutish, and bullying tactics that are utilised in this country. What is the meaning behind it? (Hint: there is none).

  22. @ Erect – Never going to happen. Please take your subversive CCP agenda elsewhere.

  23. The reason they took him from the cockpit was maybe he was currently carrying something on him that was illegal and they did not want to give him the chance to dispose of it,so they needed to catch him with it in his possession, all speculation, but they had there reason

  24. Apparently, his name was on The List *

    * hahaha lol, kidding, there is no “List”

  25. @kimmiea

You have no idea. Now if pulled over by the Polizei in Germany and you refuse a BAT test, guess what? You will give one like it or not. Get sassy with the Carbonari and see what happens.

  26. There was a time where federal law enforcement was a professional outfit. This, whatever it was, did not need to happen aboard the plane in front of passengers, needlessly scaring people. But they are all goons now, and goons will goon.

  27. @drrichard, exactly how many police departments are there in the US compared to other countries?

  28. Arguendo, 18,000 or so law enforcement agencies depending on how you count them. But that’s not the point as most of these are under local control. The big rotten bill makes ICE a huge system with virtually unlimited power. Personally the idea of masked and helmeted federal cops jumping out of unmarked car and doing whatever they want–and apparently their are bonuses for how many they round up–is straight out of 1930s Germany and the Soviet Union. Do you really think you’re safe?

  29. He is being charged with a hate crime and faces up to 20 years in Federal Prison. He was the pilot monitoring and handling the radio. After being handed off to SFO tower, during his read back, he referred to the controller as “Sir” not realizing that the controller was a transexual and demanded to be referred to as Ms. She is suing both the airline and the co-pilot for emotional trauma claiming she now suffers from PTSD and insomnia.

Pilots are advised to ask each controler their preferred pronouns prior to obtaining clearances, giving read backs, etc.

  30. Tis tiresome bellyaching about law enforcement officials doing their job is so laughable. and moronic.

  31. @drrichard

Funny how you are fine with Hamas supporters protesting, defacing college campuses, statues, fighting police and tossing smoke bombs, etc. All of them masked up. I have no problem at all with the ICE agents masked up. They do that to protect their families identities because the Democrats will unleash the Tesla, city fire bombers on their homes.

  32. @Coffee Please — Nice strawman about vandalism; have you forgotten J6? Do go on… about caring for police, privacy, property, and free speech. Ignore any hypocrisy because right wingers are immune. Phew!

  33. @Joseph: Why involve Obama in this mess. He put more immigrants back to thie border more than Drump ever did. Why must you politicize every damn topic on this forum?

  34. So probably not immigration related, since it appears ICE not involved. No apparent DEA, so probably not drug related.

Probably not a violent crime, since those are typical state charges and no local/state officers present.

    Ugh…. Child p***? That’s often a HSI thing.

  35. @John — Yikes. That’s dark. And if it turns out to just be ‘unpaid parking tickets,’ will you… be apologizing for such an extreme speculation? Oh, who am I kidding, strangers apologizing online… that’s highly unlikely… ‘welcome to the internet… have a look around…’ (Bo Burnham).

  36. ICE is rare on domestic flights and ditto for DEA.

But this will be what happens if the Vueling pilot from Spain ever visits the USA

  37. Seems it’s not just non-white pax the masked ss are going after. Now it’s crew. Can’t wait to get tf out of this place next month. On DL too, no less. If they have any crew left by then.

  38. Must have flown charter flights to Little St. John island and has possession of flight manifests.

  39. Feds like to put on a show. Remember Mar a Lago, Roger Stone and others that could have been dealt with by simply calling their attorneys. It gets them clicks.

  40. @1990. Ah yes, parking tickets. That’s what it is…NOT.

As it turns out, he is a wanted predatory sexual offender. I for one, do want that man around any children, so unlike the many nitwits on here, he should NEVER have been allowed to deplane under normal circumstances. Good for Law Enforcement acting immediately before this man could do something drastic with an airplane full of passengers trying to evade capture. @ Delta…get your house in order. You have some real losers flying your planes right now.

  41. There might have been 10 officers waiting, but that means those reporting it were already deplaned. I can’t imagine for safety’s sake that the passengers were not already off the plane. Whether the drama was necessary for the arrest is the second question..the first is, “was there really that much drama in the first place or was it created by some fit-throwing, anti police leftist who creates scenarios claims for effect..”

  42. Let me be clear….. Ahhhh… reach aro…I mean fly a rounds are only allowed when I was in Air force one. This is serious business.

  43. @Humdrum — Got intel for us ‘on the inside,’ do ya? Because we don’t even have a name of the pilot yet. Please, do go on…

  44. @1990

Broken record on Jan 6. It was a protest that went too far. I have acknowledged that. One person was killed that day. An unarmed USAF veteran. Now reverse the players and we would have racist hate crimes charges.

  45. @1990, hop off this site for a second and google it. Then you can come back and apologize to @humdrum.

  46. Apparently, it now takes “10 law enforcement officers” to arrest one person.
That may be explained by promotions based on how many times their names show up in arrest reports, but more likely it is a testament to how ill-trained and unqualified they are.
The Chief of that department – and any other departments who act similarly – should be questioned about training, standards, officer examinations and the like, because such acts will sooner or later result in a physical revolt by the populace they are allegedly serving.

  47. read the article again. he was suspect for drinking on the job. Maybe his new co-pilot also suspected him this time and quietly alert the HLS while he went to the john.

  48. 1990
despite the hypocritical scorn of some people, there are growing news reports that he was arrest for child sexual crimes or videos of them.

There was an AA FA that was just sentenced to 18 years for trying to film young girls in the lav.

When you have 100k plus people on your payroll, statistically, there will be some sick people.

and the reason why they likely arrested him on the aircraft is because that is one of the few things about where they could get him – and they presented DL with an order to tell them here he was working and they complied.

Pity the poor captain that will never forget that flight.

and pity the hypocritical people that think they are so much better than someone else that they can look down on the failures of others.

  49. Yes, @Pilot93434, @Humdrum appears to be correct. Just awful.

As with the apparent murder-suicide with AI171, I wish that was not the case. Mere parking tickets would be ‘better.’ *sigh*

  50. Delta drama at 30,000 feet: one pilot calling the feds on another mid‑flight like it’s some corporate Hunger Games. Bro, we bought plane tickets, not front‑row seats to your HR meltdown. Fly the damn plane — leave the ladder‑climbing for after landing.. btw ? Was the caller LGBTQ individual?

  51. @Coffee Please — Since we’re on the subject (of prosecuting pedos), I’m with you, regardless of the background, wealth, status, partisanship, etc., wherever it may lead, allow for due process, and ensure the authorities go after the right people for the actual crimes they commit. So, about Epstein, do you think this’ll take out 45/47, or is He just gonna use it to go after his political enemies, and more so, will the base ‘go along’ with that, even if He is clearly implicated? Or is it all still ‘nothing to see here,’ and ‘look over there!’

  52. “He who is without sin may cast the first stone?” How about – more specifically – “He who has never pedaled in child pornography may cast the first stone.” Ummmm…that would make 99.9999999% of us, here. And a guy like that – flying a plane – is a massive threat. What a stupid comment.

  53. Don’t prosecute pedos. They’re sick and deserve our compassion. The right approach is psychiatric treatment, not prison.

  54. Don’t prosecute pedophiles? Wait until the Lord gets a hold of them! “It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.” Psychology is a bunch of BS, its origins based on philosophy, not science. In actual fact, there is no medical test to prove any mental disease other than those caused by an underlying physiological condition, such as brain damage or chemical imbalances. Such perfidy should not be used as shields and excuses for evil, wicked behavior. Such nonsense is one of the reasons this society wallows in such abject poverty of judgment and harmony. Indeed, the perp deserves treatment while the victim(s) do what? Live with the horrible memories of the abuse? That is an absolutely disgusting proposition. Yes, there can be psychological consequences for the child, but such are the result of trauma and are real – not in themselves a causitive factor. The perp’s problem is due to giving into long held, prurient impulses that should have been squashed at the onset rather than being allowed to fester, leading to giving into temptation. It is due to a fundemental lack of love and respect for fellow men. It is an extreme form of selfishness and disregard for the effect of one’s actions. Satan loves such fools, as well as the fools who try to make excuses for such scum.

  55. Pedo or not (innocent until proven guilty or hung in his cell), there was no way they could have let the passengers deplane before pulling this go-rilla stunt? Not like they didn’t know who they were looking for and he was going to slip away with the crowd. I can’t even guess how those poor souls must have felt, not knowing what the heck was going on. Great on getting the alleged bad guy, but storming a loaded airplane? Any other LEOs here have any thoughts on how many things could have gone wrong with that?!

  56. You people have GOT to be kidding me…. You need a psychological evaluation of your own if you think therapy is the appropriate consequence for molesting and or rape of a child! Yes, pedofilia is a psychological disorder but like cannibalism it’s not one that you can be rehabilitated from. They do need treatment AND separation from society. If your child was victimized I promise you wouldn’t want the predator who did it to see the light of tomorrow much less be reintroduced into society. Oh and to whomever threw that whole cast the first stone analogy in the mix….that doesn’t apply here. Not even a little

  57. ERECT!!!!! What an absolutely appalling response. Your used name “Erect” speaks for itself. If it was left to me and many others, they would be castrated never mind prosecuted. Better still, leave the Paedophile alone with the parents of the child.

  58. @drrichard

Since Trump has started cleaning up this garbage country I’ve actually been proud of it for the first time in my life.

Once we “deal with” the scum.

  59. These comments are nothing short of sick. A man is arrested for child sexual abuse material and what we get is don’t cast the first stone, pedos should not be prosecuted and irrelevant nonsense about illegal aliens. Just wow.

  60. Not surprised all the scummy lefties are defending someone who traded abuse material as a victim of the evil evil ice.

But then again the propaganda is easily lapped up by the Obama Biden crowd. We still have clowns that repeat the Obama deported the most people lie.

  61. @1990

With regards to the Epstein files. Biden had em four years. Kammy had em during her failed presidential run (thank god). Don’t you think if there was dirt in there those two would have released them?

  62. What a stupid use of excessive force and waste of taxpayer money. They must get off on intimidation.

  63. Ever hear of the saying Once a Thief, always a Thief?

Yeah, the only solution for these people is a woodchipper.

  64. @1990

Biden had the Epstein files for his awful presidency. Could have released them but didn’t. Kamala could have had them leaked / released as well during her failed presidential run (thank god) but didn’t yet again. The Demos are so desperate for anything anti-Trump. Serious case of TDS by the Demo leadership. Anyone heard from Letitia or Adam lately? Hilarious.

  65. Some guy up above said that they don’t deserve prison, they deserve treatment. I agree. However, before y’all jump on my a$$, the treatment I’m proposing involves baseball bats and a shovel……

  66. Response to “Erect”: Anyone who feels compassion for a pedophile is as sick as the perpetrator. If you can’t control yourself, or your impulses, you should face a firing squad.

  67. News reports say he was trafficking in child porn. We have actually have people on this site that seem to think that shouldn’t be a crime and we shouldn’t have police to investigate such crimes. I’ll let you determine the character of someone so “pro child sexual abuse.”

If they had let this guy walk out into the terminal upon seeing law enforcement then suddenly law enforcement is in an open area with lots of people. Of course they’re going to carry out a controlled take down. Mind boggling that people can’t seem to understand this concept.

  68. @Erect if you abused my kids or anyone I know kids I will provide my own compassionate care to the pedo with a baseball bat to his noggin until the “urges” leave his body.

  69. These pedo sympathizers commenting are brain dead. You can’t rehab these people they belong ostracized from the community. Prison is a great option. or move to Thailand.

  70. Erect. I agree. A prison sentence has an ending. A psych hospital will keep those pervs locked up forever.

  71. @1990

I have responded twice now to your post above. Unfortunately the scrubbers have squashed them both.

  72. @erect….disgusting! You can’t rehabilitate a pedophile!!! They are a danger to all children! What I think needs to be done isn’t fit to describe…so I will just go with LIFE IN PRISON NO PAROLE. Quit defending such abhorrent behavior.

  73. On this Pedo Hysteria – seems a bit overwrought.

People get locked up for looking at porn on their computer
looking means downloading onto computer, by file sharing Frostwire
    or whatever other app
then someone else sees pic, downloads… from first node of first guy
and gets charged with trafficking when they did not knowingly do so

  74. I have not recovered from Trump’s statement, (calling him a loser) about Senator John McCain when he was a captured POW.

  75. Straight away, anyone who thinks pedophiles should not be arrested scares me. I would never want my child around that person either. Regarding law enforcement’s execution of this incident and how it was facilitated, it was likely executed in thr manner it was for a few reasons. One- The element of surprise. The officers wanted to completely catch him off-guard so that he was completely unprepared and in close quarters. Two-If they tried to take him down on the tarmac, it is to unsafe due to environmental factors. Three- The most dangerous plan would have been to apprehend him in the terminal. They have no idea if he was able to somehow bypass security and get a weapon on the plane. Anything can happen these days.

No doubt it would be concerning to see ten people in civilian clothes storming the cockpit. However, the officers had their badges present. People need to be more resilient. I don’t need to know every mission that law enforcement or our military is engaged in or planning, and I don’t want to know. As long as they are doing their best to protect us.

  76. Overkill as always. The cops could have waited until the passengers deplaned. The pilots and FAs are the last out anyways. Just have a few cops in the jetway and and couple in the gate for backup.

  77. Airline flight instructor here. When a pilot is hired by my company, they must bring proof of US citizenship…a US PASSPORT along with their FAA pilot certificate and 1st class medical for their interview. If the pilot is a foreign national, which we have hired, the DHS must send us the authorization to train that pilot. That pilot submits his foreign passport and HIS copy if the DHS form. On day one of actual “flight training”, we instructors are supposed to check the same documents and their FAA ATP pilot certificate and 1st class medical which must be valid through their entire training. So, I’m guessing that this was a “trafficking” or some issue like that.

  78. Well, as Timmyboy always says, nothing like Delta for a premium experience!

In the meantime, United keeps kicking Delta’s ass on Wall Street. But, of course, what do Wall Street know compared to Timmiboy?

  79. well, no, Marco, UA isn’t kicking anyone’s backside.

They are underpaying their employees which is why their earnings took a hit as they took a charge for the $500 million they should have paid their employees over the past 5 years.

there are five more unions to go.

and the UA FA vote should be announced any time.

let’s wait until UA settles w/ all of their labor groups before making any apples to apples comparisons

  80. @Coffee Please — No worries either way.

@George Romey — Looks like you took @Erect’s bait.

@MARCO MAROZZI — Psh, yeah, do only look at stock price; ignore market cap (Delta $36 billion, United $29.9 billion). If only we knew what those numbers mean… Beyond the financials (and I’m sure @Tim Dunn can ‘educate’ you further), how about reliability and customer satisfaction? Regardless of one-offs like the story above, Delta is still my (and most folks’) favorite in the USA.

  81. @Tim Dunn — Well said, sir. United should pay its workers more. Now we’re talking!

  82. He should’ve worked for the government… then they wouldn’t be able to find him.

how long you give Ghislaine Maxwell to live?

  83. What drama! Traumatize the passengers? Guns? They couldn’t wait for him in the jetway after passengers disembarked? Sooooo over the top!

  84. The guy who thinks it is because he’s an “illegal” and this is our tax dollars at work, lol, doesn’t know the difference between HS and ICE.

  85. @erect
Pedos are criminals who abuse children. They should go to prison so that children are safe.

  86. Sad that so many here are upset with a pedophile being arrested. Perhaps they take a peek every now and then themselves.

  87. Apparently had to do with a local Bay Area warrant on him for kiddy porn or similar.

  88. Some information per the SF Chronicle:

Pilot apparently lives here, so the investigation was being conducted by a Bay Area law enforcement agency (CC Sheriff).

While I am horrified at how ICE is currently treating immigrants, the facts in this case point to what happened probably being the best of the available options. The surprise factor and the ability to contain the situation rather than have it occur in the terminal with more people and less control makes sense to me.

It appears there may have been sex with a child 10 or younger, so I am unable to summon up any compassion for this pilot at this time.

  89. @makfan “While I am horrified at how ICE is currently treating immigrants” – er, have you looked at the records of Biden’s illegal alien criminals ICE is targeting?

We can always move them to your neighborhood. Why don’t you open your doors to them?

  90. @1990 Anyone that either makes a joke about child SA (particularly without making sure others know it’s a joke) or suggests they are to be pitied really needs to rethink their moral compass.

I would law enforcement to 100% guarantee this guy would be taken into custody without escape and it’s hard to escape an airplane cockpit.

  91. Oh My, happened on Delta the so proclaimed/anointed Golden Goose of Aviation. WTF are they kidding……same Airline that had a Young Gay FA in uniform servicing a well known Gay Porn Star in the bathroom on a cross country flight with his ID around his neck. Shit happens anywhere within ANY Company so the Delta Fanboys need to put down their Southern Bibles and Christian diatribes of BS because they are no better than anyone else. Feds obviously were watching this Perp and they showed no mercy in addressing the situation.

  92. Ice is doing a great job they along with Law Enforce need our support. Screw people making un-American comments!

  93. Probably would have been best to go on the plane AFTER the passengers had deplaned. The crew doesn’t leave till the passengers are off. Another FED show of power which could have put passengers at risk.

  94. @George Romey — Bud, we agree. Rest assured, I am all about enforcement AND due process. Let’s be clear here, @Erect made those comments, not you or I. That guy sure likes to troll here.

  95. Why not let everyone else deplane first? It’s not like the pilot was going anywhere, and no danger to pax by waiting.

  96. Reece
You and a few others are the only ones that think that Delta or any company of 100k employees wouldn’t have serious and deviant criminals in its midst. You clearly do it so you can throw dirt while failing to realize the crap in your own life. And it is there whether you admit or not

Guy needs justice. And removal from society.

Those who are hyper focused on the way the arrest was done doesn’t undermine the universal disgust at what he is charged with doing to a young minor

  97. I have to admit you are consistent, tim.

Long lines at a Delta SkyClub? — you spend all day defending delta and yelling at other commenters

Delta Ops Meltdown? — You spend all day defending delta and yelling at other commenters

Delta Pilot arrested for kiddie porn? You spend all day defending Delta and yelling at other commenters, not to mention attacking the manner in which law enforcement arrested the pilot.

Perhaps it’s time to back away from the keyboard?

  98. max,
you are the height of hypocrisy – to absolutely no one’s surprise.

when people don’t have the intelligence -that would be you – to know the difference between a crime against a child and lines at SkyClubs and think they are the same, then it all becomes nothing but an excuse to lash out at someone.

reece’s comment was beyond unhinged. There isn’t a soul anywhere and esp. not me that has defended what this pilot was accused of doing. He gets his day in court but the chances are pretty high they have ample evidence.

Companies don’t and never will have full responsibility for the conduct of their employees esp. off duty.

DL doesn’t want him around. Society doesn’t want him around.

But that is also true of the brainless comments that come from you and reece.

we can and do lockup child predators. Sadly we have to put up with people like you

  99. Is this now your 15th comment defending delta and attacking others on an article about a Delta pilot getting arrested kiddie porn? Thanks for making my point.

Walk away from the keyboard, tim. Get some perspective.

  100. we can’t possibly count the number of times you have posted something that is so completely a789 backwards from what was said – and yet you think **I** am the one that needs to walk away.

You and your uneducated ilk wouldn’t know what “he who he is without sin can cast the first stone”

It certainly doesn’t mean someone is excused for what they did and certainly doesn’t mean that anyone else can or should take ownership for someone’s actions – INCLUDING THEIR EMPLOYER.

You and a few of your low IQ ilk are so hellbent on trying to defame me and Delta that you can’t understand that the human heart is dark and sometimes people such as this pilot, if he is convicted, prove us how dark

But in your tiny little mind, cases like this are reduced to a platform for trashing someone else because you are incapable of realizing how depraved you are.

YOU step back from the keyboard to focus on the incredible human loss and damage that has been caused instead of just thinking this is yet another opportunity to weaponize another discussion.

  101. You need a therapist. And a good one. I know exactly what “let he who is without….”. means. I’m not sure you do because it’s certainly not something a normal person writes about a kiddie porn arrest in the pilot’s defense.

But it surprises no one that a guy that spends all day behind a keyboard and is in love with a public company wouldn’t have the common decency to just walk away on this topic but instead spent most of the day between various websites yelling at others and defending Delta under various usernames.

For an idiot, you sure do love to rate others’ IQ 😉

Get some sleep. It’s been a long day of looking like a loser for you.

  102. Funny how quickly they’ll storm a plane to arrest a supposed pedo

But everyone on Epstein’s list still walks free

  103. and yet you, hypocritically keep arguing – because this is ALL just an attempt by your depraved mind to prove someone else wrong

and, no, you don’t have a clue what “let he who is without sin (who can’t even type the word)”

It means not one of us is in a position to condemn someone else.

absolutely nowhere have I given approval for what he did or stated that he shouldn’t face the full brunt of the law which he broke – not just laws of the US and whatever jurisdictions under it – but more importantly the moral law which is embedded deeply in every one of us.

The only idiot is someone like you and your ilk that think that this, of ALL topics, is one that should become a platform for trying to prove someone wrong.

YOU are depraved and as vile as they come. The complete sadness is that you have seared your mind to prevent you from being faced with the reality of who you are.

    don’t just walk away, Max.

    Run

  104. @Tim Dunn — Looks like @MaxPower surrendered. Congrats! Keep climbing! 100 more years!

  105. 1990.
    this is serious stuff.

    Not a game.

Someone majorly screwed up his own life and did unimaginable harm to a little girl.

    It is pathetically sad.

and yet Max and a few mental midgets think it is an occasion to try to smack someone else down.

He and anyone else is free to mock me about SkyClubs or anything else about the business of aviation but to even insinuate that I defend this guy is such a gross misreading of what was said that the only way that can be done is to be so incredibly deranged to not even be able to think clearly.

“he who is without sin….” is one of the foundational sentences in world literature. You don’t have to be a Christian to recognize the basic message about it or how profound it was when it was spoken, but sadly, some people are clueless.

  106. I’m with you on this, Tim. And this incident really is a shame. Hopefully there will be accountability and justice for victims soon.

  107. @Sky Line
“We can always move them to your neighborhood. Why don’t you open your doors to them?”
I am all for deporting those who came here illegally.
There is no need for legal “due process” for those who violated their terms of obtaining a visa. They have to take an oath upon acceptance. Violating their oath does not necessarily mean violating any laws…so absolutely, out the door they go.

But when it comes to those who are descendants of military veterans born in military hospitals overseas being deported to Jamaica or people who have lived in USA all their lives after the USA bombed out their homeland during VietNam war, then *BROUGHT* them here as infants and they went on to lead productive lives following all the rules…That is WAY OVER THE LINE…and there are hundreds of those cases.

  108. @sky line

    Go to hell.

We can deal with the criminal aliens without tossing aside all due process and doing this in the most terrifying possible manner. Our collective freedoms depend on due process. I can assure you from personal experience that people with a legitimate right to be here and work here are being harassed and detained. I will NEVER be okay with that.

    This story was not that.

  109. No, tim
Your comments on the matter were not serious and you got called out for them being so obtuse spending all day defending delta on a serious matter.
Get help. You’re a joke and fraud to be lecturing others on tenets of Christianity.

An article about child abuse is not the time or place for your usual defend delta nonsense. But thank your for exposing who you truly are. Get some mental help. Spending two days now across the internet defending delta over this is so absurd.

  110. “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.”

Keep it going, fellas. It’s a new day. More is more. Fight! Fight! Fight!

  111. No one pulled you back in, 1990. You just love to interject your little nose where no one cares about it.

  112. @MaxPower — As our pal @Mike P likes to say, “I accept your surrender.” @Tim Dunn bested you here. Uh oh.

  113. It’s funny you view a comment section as a winning and losing set up.

Oh no. Whatever will I do that some loser that can’t control his internal thoughts thinks I “lost” a comment section battle on child abuse?

Get a life and grow up. What a pathetically stupid thing to say 1990

  114. Or to put it in terms you understand better

    *insert troll comment here*

“bah” “uh” “Yikes” “doh” “Relax guy”

You’ve somehow made this comment section even worse than Tim usually does with your incessant need to reply to EVERYONE

  115. @MaxPower — It’s 2025, kiddo. Everything is zero-sum. It’s not that @Tim Dunn wins here; it’s that you lose. That’s ‘joy’ in these times. Grow up? Wake up! And you forgot to tell me to ‘touch grass’ or whatever. C’mon!

  116. Stupidity reaches a new low with you @1990

I’m glad you support Tim’s “Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone” view of child abuse and molestation. It’s an interesting take on child abuse using scripture. And not one commonly held in courts of law or by most adults that don’t condone Child Abuse.

Do I think Tim Dunn supports child abuse? No and no one said that. That’s stupid but it’s also an incredibly dumb time to quote the Bible like that then go off on the normal “Delta rocks — they aren’t at fault”. Of course delta isn’t at fault, but only an idiot spends his day in the comment section of a child abuse story yelling that and telling others not to judge a child abuser. I will judge the F out of the guy, if convicted.

    Have a good one.

  117. @MaxPower — The fish are biting today!

It’s going to be ‘rich’ the next time any person associated with United Airlines does anything wrong in society… However, I suspect @Tim Dunn is an honorable man, and would not stoop to your level. He’s shown that he can compartmentalize what is indeed a shameful incident reflecting poorly on the individual, and not wrongly extend it to an entire group of unrelated people.

We actually all see eye-to-eye on this; I’m just enjoying the ‘rage-bait’ here. If you aren’t having fun anymore, you don’t have to continue. I’ll happily return, though, if Gary allows. It’s his site; he can exile any and all of us, if this doesn’t please him.

  118. I think you’re the only one on the planet that views Tim Dunn as “honorable” vs a crazy delta fanboy, but live your dream.

Apparently, I work for United? That’s really good to know. Seems to be a raging internal debate for Tim Dunn to figure out where I work. One of his latest thoughts was America West… which hasn’t existed in decades…

So we see eye to eye, you just enjoy being a troll to others in your free time?

  119. @MaxPower — Welcome back. I don’t mind where (or even if) you work. Was under the impression that most of us here enjoy aviation, hotels, travel, credit cards, etc. The ideas, questions, debates, and banter on here are often intriguing…

  120. All I can say it this thread is nuts. all this bickering and not one REAL comment on the story.
all you children, Back to your corners and don’t turn around until you’ve learned to be civil!

  121. Good grief, no wonder The Points Guy dropped the ability to comment years ago. What a bunch of goons. Completely defeats the purpose of posting stories online. You bunch need to call the funny farm and ask them to come and get you.

  122. @jsn55 — Naw. Make of it what you want. Engage or ignore. You do you. TPG are shills; they lack courage enough to support a community for exchanging ideas and banter. Even DoC still has comments, and there’s plenty of ‘fun’ going on over there, too. Gary’s a phenomenal host, and he rightly does not micromanage the comments, though, he can if he ever wants to; it’s his site.

  123. I cannot believe the ignorance in this thread. How on earth can anyone say “Law enforcement goons running amok fueled by powerful incel desire”? They are doing exactly what they have to do. If this creep has this perverted inclination, I am certain they have enough evidence to try him. It is not even defendable. They go with speed and focus in order to keep the passengers and crew onboard safe. They do know pilots are armed and can constitute a threat. Or possibly barricade themselves within the cockpit, possibly with a hostage. So, I am sure it was a valid concern to get him cuffed before anything happened. Don’t forget people, the charge is child sex abuse materials. Let’s focus on that, not the pathetic pilot or the people who got their feelings hurt because law enforcement did their jobs!
