One Delta passenger on a recent New York – Atlanta flight was crowned the ‘Biscoff Queen’ by flight attendants who created a crown for her made of Biscoff cookies and a Delta wing pin after she had declared her deep and abiding love of the cookies inflight.

This week a video went viral of a Delta passenger living his dream as the only on on board his Delta flight from Aspen to Salt Lake City. Even on that 292 mile regional jet hop it’s a cool experience.
Seeing it described in a variety of media as being ‘like a private jet experience’ though reminded me that four years ago Delta announced elite upgrade opportunities to private jets. What ever happened to Delta’s private jet upgrade program?

SkyTeam airlines including Delta and Alitalia have business class roundtrips to Italy on sale from $1344. You can depart from several US cities — such as New York, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, and Miami – and travel to places including Rome, Milan or Venice.
There may be more cities bookable using this deal, but act fast because this is an amazing fare for travel over holidays that won’t last.

Last week a man documented the experience of flying Delta from Aspen to Salt Lake City by himself aboard Delta Express flight DL3652 operated by SkyWest. Boarding was announced at the gate as being for him. He captures the surreal experience of a predeparture announcement being made over the PA system by a flight attendant when he’s the only one in the cabin. He gets to meet the pilots. He’s sitting up front, with a predeparture beverage.

Delta complains that Qatar Airways owns 49% of Air Italy and so Italy’s number two carrier is really a stalking horse for the Doha-based airline. Meanwhile Delta owns 49% of Virgin Atlantic, and most of the rest of Virgin is owned by Delta’s partners. Delta is also a huge fan of subsidies but only when the subsidies are going to them.
So is it any surprise that Virgin Atlantic is ceasing its three to four times weekly London Gatwick – St. Lucia flights June 8, 2020 because the island wouldn’t pay Virgin $2.5 million in subsidies?

Last August Delta announced they had seat back video installed in 600 aircraft. That’s significant because American has been looking to ultimately remove seat back screens from domestic planes and United, led by American’s former President, has a similar vision.
Now Delta has announced they’ve hit 700 planes with seat back video.

This morning Edward Russell noted at the Points Guy that Delta earned more revenue than American in the last quarter, and United has more seat capacity than both. The title of his post, “American Airlines Loses World’s Largest Airline Title to Delta and United.”
Lucky at One Mile at a Time picks this up, while noting American has a larger fleet and more employees. He suggests American’s personnel count “is just to say that they aren’t very efficient.”

Many customers think that American is wrong, watching entertainment on their phones isn’t the same as a seat back screen if they even know they have to download the American Airlines app prior to takeoff in order to do so. Planes with seat back video look newer and fresher, while even brand new aircraft without screens look old and cheap — there’s a reverse halo effect that can drag down premium revenue too.
However I’ve finally been convinced that American was right. Passengers don’t deserve seat back entertainment. And all it took was one short video going viral on twitter to show me that was the case.

Delta is running a European award sale for redemption starting with August travel and running through fall, starting at 20,000 miles roundtrip (and roundtrip travel is required). There are any number of eligible routes pricing between 20,000 and 38,000 miles roundtrip.
And no matter what all of the other blogs are saying, in many cases this isn’t even a very good deal.
