JetBlue’s award travel has been restricted, offering low value for their points and making transfers from credit card programs unattractive. However, the partnership with Qatar Airways now allows for point redemption for JetBlue flights, with a distance-based award chart and wide availability for transatlantic business class bookings.

I wrote about Sunday night’s JetBlue flight from Barbados to New York JFK where the Airbus A321 tipped back on its tail after it had parked at the gate. There’s now more footage from as this was happening, including from inside the aircraft.

It appears to me that cargo was removed from the front of the aircraft first. Rear cargo was likely full and heavy.
The current status program was itself a big improvement, and it appears that the 2024 changes are generally improvements as well.
A status match campaign that only offers a match, and processes the match is… ok. But it’s also a wasted opportunity. The match needs to be as fast and seamless as possible, and then needs to follow up with the customer to help them understand and use their benefits and see why their choice to shift their business is a good one for them.

American Airlines is dropping New York LaGuardia to Kansas City for November through March (and possibly beyond). They had been operating two regional jets daily. They are also dropping New York LaGuardia to Houston Intercontinental for November through March (and possibly beyond).
The airline’s LaGuardia departures are down 13% compared to 9 months earlier and that is even as American is getting slots back from JetBlue with the unwinding of the partnership between the two carriers.
