A Delta Air Lines first class passenger on a trip from Seattle to Detroit watched another customer in the cabin get mad – and take matters into his own hands – when his seat back entertainment screen wouldn’t work.
Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian announced a partnership with DraftKings at his CES speech in Las Vegas back in January. The airline’s message to its customers: BITE ME, or rather every seat back screen showed the greeting: “Welcome aboard flight BITEME1 to Chicago.”
United Airlines has been adding seat back video screens to planes, and they’re planning to put the fastest internet in the sky on board – Starlink – starting next year. This is great for customers, but it’s all part of a plan to monetize the eyeballs of customers sitting on their planes.
