According to the Dividend Miles Member Guide, the fee for award ticket changes and for ticket cancellation/mileage redeposit is $150.
Up until a few days ago it was a stratospheric $250 per passenger on international itineraries ($150 domestic).
This change brings US Airways in line with American and United.
It’s still not inexpensive, but it’s a meaningful reduction of $100 per passenger, without explanation or fanfare. I’ll take it!
What about the change in the stopover rules, effective June 1, 2010?
Unless I’m missing something, the only real change here is the elimination of Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, and Ft. Lauderdale as US Airways hubs.
That’s good, but I think it’s still NOT “in line with American and United.” For example, if you have 3 people on one AA PNR and cancel the award, you pay only $25 for the 2nd and 3rd person.
That just ‘changes’ the stopover rule (for international parnter awards) to reflect what the official policy already was.. hubs aside.
@Nun – that’s fair.
@Gary & Nun: it’s *still* not in line with American, which allows schedule and routing changes free of charge (so long as the same carriers are used and there are no changes to stopovers; viz., anything not requiring a reticketing).
