Video: Stowaway Found On American Airlines Flight That Landed In Miami

A man survived the journey as a stowaway in the landing gear of American Airlines flight AA1182 from Guatemala City to Miami on Saturday and was discovered on arrival at the gate in video shared by the Only In Dade social media account. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

According to the airline the aircraft “was met by law enforcement due to a security issue. We are working with law enforcement in their investigation.” There is also an investigation underway in Guatemala about how the man gained access to the aircraft.

Between freezing temperatures and lack of oxygen there’s tremendous danger in stowing away in this way. Imagine wanting to come to the U.S. so badly to risk your life this way for hours. And those of us born here feel so entitled.

Here’s the incredible story of a man who stowed away in the wheel well of a 5100 mile British Airways flight and barely survived (his companion did not make it) and one of a man who shipped himself from Australia to Los Angeles in a box.

  1. Unfortunately, as a non-revenue passenger on American Airlines flight AA1182, his international travel was excluded from earning any highly valued AAdvantage miles.

  3. I don’t really think “entitled” is the right descriptor. Perhaps some of us just don’t want the USA (that our forefathers worked to create) to turn into the place he so desperately wanted to flee.

    Immigration is can be very heartfelt at the micro level, I get it. But the macro-level is where the problems arise.

  4. Given we now have open borders, not sure why this would be treated as a “law-enforcement” or “security” issue. He should’ve been issued the standard welcome wagon kit for illegal aliens: drivers license, food stamps, and a gun!

  5. Any idiot who thinks the US has “open borders” hasn’t tried to enter the US in the past century or so.

  6. Wow this guy did it wrong. He should have just joined of of the numerous tour groups (caravans).
    @No
    You left the word LEGALLY out before “tried to enter the US” But we all know what you meant. You are correct, the borders are only secured against legal border-crossers. You know like when you get off a flight and have to appease some 20 year old dipshit CBP boob two weeks out of fletc who has a huge boner now that he gets to wear the real heater instead of the red gun.
