The joke’s on you – 120,000 convicts send from Britain to America (mostly around Maryland and Delaware).
The French rounded up prostitutes, convicts, folk from hospitals an asylums and ent them to America in an attempt to populate “New France” named after their King Louis (lately Louisiana).
Fast forward and American murder rates are 5 times that of Australia and 26 times that of Japan.
A society where there are more guns than people.
A penal colony? A convict past? Like I said, the joke’s on you, fella!
