  1. 1. Cripple the airline
    2. Reduce flying by 30%
    3. Layoff/dismiss 20% of FAs
    4. Plenty of “rest” to go around

  2. Quietly waiting for a new contract for four years didn’t seem to do much good for American’s FA’s so trying some different approaches is way past due, even if the slogans could use a lot of work.

  3. Busses crash for more frequently than airplanes, and passenger trains derail more often, both causing many far more deaths and injuries to bus and rail passengers, but somehow we’ve managed to avoid a mandatory role for attendants for buses or trains to tell us how to escape a crash.

Flight attendants though have somehow managed to convince most of us to blindly assume that they’re necessary to assure safe travels, but it seems to me that the importance of that safety role is greatly overstated and that the marginal cost to train them and pay them for this role could get higher marginal returns to safety if spent elsewhere.

  4. Oh look, here’s Gary again, putting in his two anti-union cents about a job of which he has no clue.

  5. FA: but Gary, all those words won’t fit on this small sign! (Sighs)

Gary: did you think to order a slightly larger sign and slightly smaller letters?

FA: Uh, no. We can do that?

Gary: that’s why I’m the travel thought leader and you’re the follower.

  6. Oh Gary, nice of you to fight the good fight about hogging your first class chicken dinner and your invented job but the rest of us are choking on your fumes. Please dial it back before you kill the planet.

    To the barricades!

  7. @Mak, oh Mak Mak Mak. I know you haven’t flown since the last time you stepped on a 707, or maybe it was actually a Convair. Doesn’t really matter. Your comment says it all. You do realize that a bus can come to an immediate stop on any street, highway, overpass, etc and a train, while taking a bit longer than a bus, can put on the brakes on any track, right? I’m boarding my flight tomorrow and I’ll be sure and ask the Captain as we’re over the Pacific if I can have him put the plane down in about 1 minute or less. Get a grip and educate yourself. Another, ‘I want to comment on things I know nothing about’.

  8. Haven’t had a raise in 4 years. “You guys should do nothing because doing something like picketing somehow hurts your cause” ‍♂️
