On Saturday a woman jumped over the counter at an American Airlines gate in Miami in order to attack an airline employee. She was enraged that she wasn’t allowed to board her flight 1061 to Los Angeles without shoes.
The mishap began at the American Airlines gate, as the two pleaded their case about why the barefoot Mohammadi should get to fly to Los Angeles. When they were told no, Mohammadi got angry with the gate member until they were told to leave.
Cellphone footage showed Mohammadi getting upset with the gate member, jumping on the counter barefoot, according to police and the airline, in an attempt to strike the employee.
She and her companion were arrested outside the terminal after an altercation with officers. She faces charges of disorderly intoxication, battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest while he is merely charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without violence.
Towards the end of the video, during the altercation with police, the woman quickly goes from challenging them “arrest me!” to “why are you arresting me?” She seems to have fun with her mugshot.
According to the woman they went through the TSA security checkpoint but didn’t realize she’d forgotten her shoes. Instead of going back to the checkpoint to get her shoes, she wanted to travel without them. And she acknowledges that jumping the counter to lunge at the American Airlines agent wasn’t the right response to being told no, “OK, and I get that, and I will take 100% responsibility.”
On the other hand, in her defense, she says she isn’t a seasoned traveler, “you know what? I don’t go on the airport that often.” So she’s just not familiar with the norms for this sort of thing. And she offers, “People make mistakes.”
Compounding the mistake of lunging at the American Airlines gate staff, her companion kicked a police officer who responded to the scene. Both passengers admitted they had pre-gamed with tequila prior to heading to the airport.
How is this “thought leader in travel” worthy material?
2020 will be remembered as the year everyone lost their damn minds.
@Jason
Its just capturing the pulse of what is going on at airports. I’d rather have it covered than pretend its not happening.
I would also want to know if incidents like this are down, up, or the same as a typical year.
I would also appreciate if Gary and others followed up after the drunk video to see what actually happens in these cases once they hit the court. Also will AA take any action like a bann or just treat it like you had one too many on a Saturday night.
I’m also curious how agents document the PNR internally or if the PNR becomes restricted so all cannot view it inside AA or another carrier. Or do they put nothing in the notes of the PNR?
All too often the media stops at the drunk video but they don’t follow through with the case or the airlines actions and investigations.
Nah, there have always been asshats like these two, it’s just that smartphones and social media have combined forces to show all of us every outburst by every cretin.
@Boston-
No, this type of stuff always went on, it just wasnt covered. This is no “pulse” of what’s going on. It’s not like this happens every single day, and you should expect it when you fly. Sure, there are crazy people, and from time to time things happen. but it’s not an every dayoccurrence. I’ve flown numerous times during this covid time and it’s all been standard. No issues, no craziness. This is just pure click baitery, Jerry Springer. No “thought leadership” here – it’s no thought. it’s just spectacle.
Two entitled idiots who got what they deserved.
I remember my first time at an airport. I don’t believe I got arrested.
She got an onlyfans? Asking for a friend lol
I’d be interested to see correlation data between passengers like this and the fare price of their ticket.
I had no idea that shoes or footwear was the norm in modern industrial countries. You learn something every day.
@Boston (I’m also from Boston!), I couldn’t agree more… With cheap airfares, promotions, and cheap hotel rates, we have a ton of people travelling now that would not have been travelling in the past. I made a few trips out to Vegas since July, and it’s been even worse there, with people who have no idea how to behave in public, taking advantage of cheap rooms and flights, and then going crazy.

Trash. This is what a wrong with America. How about a little respect and decorum?!?
She is at the wrong airline counter. Spirit Airlines is over that-a-way >>>>
It seems like American is becoming the carrier of trashy passengers. They seem to really draw the bottom of the barrel travelers.
Normally trash like that flies Spirit out of FLL. They just weren’t prepared for a real airline and real airport
These are just the kind of entitled people who will now turn around and accuse the police of abuse.
Agree 100% with what L3 says. I believe most of these people are doing this for publicity and hoping for a lawsuit. They are not as stupid as they act. I truly feel bad for the mentally ill however these jerks new fully well what they were doing.
@Michael and @305
Seriously Spirit Airlines ? You sound as if only Spirit has these issues . I suggest you check your facts as Delta had an incident ( in the jet bridge ) last week, JetBlue and United (remember the man being dragged off of the plane ? To post such comments without knowing the facts of all airlines shows your stupidity.
Have a good day .
She looks like she’s really familiar with jumping and mounting things…
@L3
You are correct. Already trying to start that narrative.

What a business 🙁
Unfortunately anyone can buy a ticket and there is no safety screening for mental illness or from those that may lunge or attack staff or fellow passengers
Scary
They both deserve to be banned from all airports.
Good post. Always interesting to see these yahoos yelling “I will sue you” and “the dog attacked me” when clearly the police (or dog) did nothing wrong. Despite privacy concerns, we need more security cameras in public to document offenses and show the truth.
@Boston +1
Ive worked I. The same airport for 18 years and ever since the shut and low airline prices has brought out a whole new group of travelers…very scary at times
I thought moslems have weird religious hang ups with feet. Strange she would expose them in public.
I just retired after 40+ years as an airline employee and I can confirm incidents like this have greatly increased in the last few years. It is virtually a daily occurrence at some larger airports. Only a fraction of what really happens makes on social media.
What is up with Miami and what were they on? It seemed more than alcohol.which is hard to get in many airports and clubs now with crazy state-county covid nutty regs..
Entitlement on crack. All about her rights. Go ahead liberals…make excuses for that pathetic behavior. God Bless our police and airline workers!! They DONT GET PAID ENOUGH for that BS!
It’s a pity so many scumbags are the traveling public. They should be banned from flying. It is a privilege not a right.
As Sir Elton John so eloquently put it
“… I’ll be hiiiiiiiiiiiiigh as a kite by then”
Put them on Do Not Fly list and if not Americans deport them like they would someone of Mexican descent after having disobeyed the law
I think I will try this act tomorrow at the airport. After I jump up and scream in the guy’s face I will go outside and rant and rave in front of some officers. Then I will beg them to arrest me. All in a day’s fun. Bet this isn’t the first time these two who are made for each other have pulled something like this. I hope they are both sterile.
What I don’t get is they were already outside the airport when the police were called. So if they left the counter already, why were they called?
They seem like nice kids. One suspects they’re not use to drinking booze. I’d give them a second chance.
Love the Nutter Porn Gary….keep up the good work.
@donewithit above: I just took the furlough after 30 years in the airline biz. Travelers were much different in their behaviors and decorum back when I started with TWA.
Last year a guy threw a stanchion at me because he was late for his international flight. Serious knee injury with permanent disability. I am so over working in this business. My long-term furlough will last until I retire.
Another example of trash in America. Gross disgusting people that will never grow up or amount to anything. They’ll get what they deserve in life, which is nothing. Why is it this happens predominantly in America? Why have we raised so many immature victims, whiners and crybabies? Sigh.
Thank you MDPD.
For a moment, with just the audio playing in the background, I thought you had simply uploaded last night’s presidential debate…
The fact that these two morons had tequila before attempting to board and she forgot her shoes then tried to attack a gate agent is uncivilized. Her boyfriend having tequila also allowed him to act with alcohol bravado. Two drunk fliers denied boarding then arguing with police until they were arrested when they were clearly asked to leave the airport premises. All police seemed to act professionally as these two insisted on loud confrontational behavior instead of leaving quietly. They brought on their arrests for disorderly conduct in a public area.
The police made an arrest according to procedure. The girl jumped over the gate ticket counter at an airline employee and should have been arrested.
Hey Paolo-I hope they jump your family members-then YOU can give them a 2nd chance.
The couple need to be banned from ever flying again.
God bless the police!

I thought the Muhammadians weren’t supposed to drink?
Damn that pregame Tequila, The End…
Hand them over to the iranian moral police , by next morning call for prayer, they give them back to us at no charge or question asked two model citizens…
These are the kind of people that need to be wiped out of existence, and quickly. Sadly, that’s the only way forward.
Not gonna make Concierge Key anytime soon
JUST TWO MORE DEADBEATS!
How do you forget your shoes???
Apparently she’s no stranger to booking photos for Public Intox.

Just like many officer’s are trained and carry Narcan for opiates overdoes.
Think that LEOs should also request an Ambulance, and be trained to administer Halidol and/or Ketamine.
In situations like this when unstable people go bat-shat crazy, then book them on 5150 – 72 hour mental health crisis hold. Let them get some medical/MH treatment.
