Wyndham Extends Elite Status, Offers Instant Status To Essential Workers

Wyndham Rewards is extending all current elite member status through December 31, 2021. Many of us noted that Marriott was last to extend status, but that’s not true. Don’t forget Wyndham!

They’re also pausing points expiration through September 30, 2020. And like other chains are waiving cancellation penalties for stays through June 30 provided cancellation is done 24 hours in advance of scheduled arrival (and waiving penalties for stays after June 30 provided the request is made 48 hours in advance).

Finally they’re making instant status upgrades to Gold available to anyone that is an essential worker “”think truck drivers, delivery drivers, warehouse workers, sanitation workers, grocery associates, healthcare workers and more.” This offer is available through September 30, and status lasts until December 31, 2021.

If you decide you’re an essential worker – which pretty much means anyone traveling right now – then you can have instant Gold status with Wyndham. Gold is their lowest elite tier which they added a 10% points bonus to last year. You might receive a “preferred room” (i.e. avoid the room over the HVAC) and late checkout if available.
