Regular readers know that I consider the American Express Centurion lounge in Dallas to be among the best lounges in the United States.
There’s a Centurion Lounge in Las Vegas, and two more have been announced — San Francisco and New York LaGuardia — with more expected to come as well.
The San Francisco location has been reported to have an expected opening sometime this summer (although construction projects often fall behind). It will be located on on the mezzanine level above security in the United terminal 3.
The lounge must be close because they’re hiring.
konoyaro on Milepoint flags a job posting for Member Services Desk Team Leader at the San Francisco airport Centurion lounge.

The MSD Team Leader is the Coach to a team of highly skilled and motivated Member Service Professionals that provide Card Servicing, Travel Servicing, and Lifestyle Servicing assistance to customers while visiting the American Express Airport Lounge.
I cannot wait… though I don’t expect it to be easily accessible when I’m flying through San Francisco on American…

Do we know if it will be pre or post security? I sure hope it is post. That area is connected behind security to the E F and G piers at SFO roughly gates 60 – 110 (or however high it goes) used by UA and most Star Alliance carriers.
@ Gary — Well, at least AA has a very nice lounge and adjacent restauarants at SFO T2.
FWIW, DL’s new SkyClub with SkyDeck will be built soon inside security at SFO T1. The DL employees have been talking about this for several years, but supposedly it will finally happen soon…
@Carl – I believe it will be after security (airside), elevator up to the lounge immediately once you clear.
@gene – they do, I very much like flying American out of San Francisco.
Seems like it should be quite easy to build a post-security corridor between T2 and T3. There’s one between T1 and T2 in the works already…
@Mike: What purpose would that serve? Easy is relative too, at SFO it would be expensive and take 2 years…
@Gary: Clearly AMEX knows where the money (aka customers) are at SFO, and it ain’t in T2… I am looking forward to this lounge opening, have kept my Plat card open because I want to experience it (among other reasons).
With Clear at SFO, jumping over to T3 should be easy enough if you have a ~2 hour or longer layover. Even with precheck, should not take too long. (Assuming you are allowed to get through T3 security with a VX or AA Boarding Pass?)
I can’t wait! I fly to SFO regularly on United, for work and pleasure, and I just got the Platinum Amex.
I really wish they’d open one in LAX and ORD, though.
It is interesting in DFW they build in the heart of AA and in SFO they build in the heart of UA………even with a lifetime Red Carpet Club card I am more interested in going to the Centurion…….plus I just figured out that I can pay the SLK350 lease on the Mercedes card and get 5X as long as I do it over the phone……….so a free international FC ticket comes with the lease and club admission………if you can walk on the upper level all the way to AA it will probably just mean a 5-7 minute walk…..well worth it!
