I was talking with Yana about Virgin Atlantic’s amazing ANA awards — seriously, roundtrip in one of the world’s better first class products for 110,000 miles between the US and Tokyo — and I was outlining all of the hoops you have to jump through.

Muhammad Ali, Jr. Held Up at the Airport Again… After Speaking to Congress About His Last Detention

Last month Muhammad Ali, Jr. was detained at the border on his way back into the U.S. and reportedly questioned about his religion.

His mother was with him, and apparently since she was carrying a photo of herself with the late Muhammad Ali she was allowed to pass. Without his own ‘get out of Customs and Border Protection free photo’ he was subjected to greater scrutiny.

I Bet You Aren’t Using Your Job to Earn As Many Miles as This Man

I’ve always loved being able to put lots of work charges on my personal credit card and get reimbursed. There’s a risk involved, of course, what if you spend money and your accounting department kicks back the charges? What if your business.. goes out of business before you’re reimbursed?

Life on the road, when you don’t have to use a company credit card, lets you rack up plenty of miles. But it’s nothing like what one waiter did at a steakhouse.

FARE DEAL: United Business Class to Asia From $1700 Roundtrip!!

Last month I wrote that it’s the golden age of air travel with cheap fares all over the world. Most of those fares have been in economy, with sub-$400 roundtrips to Europe and Asia with amazing flash sales. I certainly prefer travel in business class, and readers have been asking for those deals, in the past month I’ve highlighted West Coast to several European cities from $2000 roundtrip, business class to several Asian destinations for $1954, West Coast to Africa from $2146 roundtrip, and Singapore Airlines Business Class to Europe or Asia for Less Than $2000 roundtrip. This last was the best deal of all.
