News and notes from around the interweb:
- You thought the upgrade to “F” meant a bigger seat and a meal, but it turns out just to be “Foot Class”
Didn’t realize the upgrade to FC would include this…
byu/pondy indelta - This story is going viral again. It’s actually from 2019.
- Old School suckisstaples app-o-rama in search of 0% balance transfer offers to fund high yield savings accounts, updated for the modern era. That was interest rate arbitrage backed by the FDIC. This you should absolutely not try at home, kids:
I opened 15 credit cards like a complete maniac.
Ran up $100k in debt buying physical gold at $1,600/oz.
0% interest for 24 months.
Family thought I’d lost it. Friends stopped picking up my calls.
Gold is $3,800/oz now.
That stupid gamble made me $237,500.Degeneracy >…

- Wells Fargo Autograph Journey 100,000 point bonus offer for Premier Members in-branch If I were a Wells Fargo Premier member I’d be all over this, I’ve been mulling Autograph Journey anyway with Sapphire Reserve losing 3x on non-air/hotel travel (things like Airbnb, cruises).

- Hyatt is again running a marketing campaign for Park Hyatt which is my favorite of their brands. Though “Luxury Is Personal” is hardly a new slogan.
Chase Ink Preferred will still offer 3X on all travel, right? That’s what I was using before the CSR for other travel and I guess I’ll be switching back later next month.
On the feet stuff, where’s infrequent commenter @shoeguy to give us a full report?!
At this very moment, the U.S. Senate is “Examining Competition in America’s Skies.” Barry Biffle, CEO of Frontier, rockin’ that orange tie, today; he just threw some shade at Scott Kirby for dumpin’ Basic Economy fares… niccce.
Grossness is everywhere.
@George N Romey — How gross? Cluster B? Wawa? Low-rent?
I have not personally tried this yet but I believe Airbnb should code as 3x on Strata Premier because that 3x includes travel agencies. And can get a Strata regular for 3x on select transit which includes car rentals, ferries, commuter railways, subways, taxis/limousines/car services, passenger railways, bridge and road tolls, parking lots/garages, bus lines, and motor home and recreational vehicle rentals.
As for cruises, while my feelings on them have been accurately encapsulated by Gary Shteyngart’s piece in The Atlantic, you could get a Custom Cash and and get 5x Select Travel and pay $500 a month towards the cruise OR Airbnb. Select Travel includes airline, hotel, cruise line and travel agency purchases.
All low/no cost points options to replace the now high cost/hard to use credits CSR.
And for those of you tuning in from the borscht belt…. Why can’t a nose be 12 inches long? Because then it would be a foot!
It seems as though DL has the highest rate of mechanical issues and feet issues, all at once.
