[Expired] Bask Bank New Customer Offer: 5,000 American Airlines AAdvantage Miles

Update November 30, 2023: this offer has been extended through February 29, 2024.

  • New customers only
  • Save $25,000 for 90 days get 5,000 AAdvantage® miles
  • 12/1/23-2/29/24 runtime

The terms and conditions in the original post below, of course, extend the offer through February 29, 2024 (rather than ending November 30, 2023). I have made that change to the original:

Between June and August, Bask Bank offered up to 20,000 bonus miles for opening a new account and hitting savings targets – or adding money to an existing account. For instance, saving $25,000 for six months would earn 10,000 bonus miles – on top of the regular rate of earning which is 2.5 miles per dollar saved annually.

That offer is over, but they’ve introduced a new customer bonus. Those new to Bask Bank who open an account and save $25,000 for 90 days earn 5,000 bonus miles. You only are required to keep the money in the account half the time compared to the previous offer to earn the bonus.

And, again, this is in addition to the standard earning of 2.5 AAdvantage miles per dollar saved annually. This offer runs September 1 – November 30, 2023. February 29, 2024.

Offer terms:

Account Opening Bonus: Bask Bank is offering 5,000 AAdvantage®️ Bonus Miles for customers that (i) have not previously opened a Bask Mileage Savings Account; (ii) meet Bask Bank’s qualifications to open an account; (iii) complete the online account opening process between December 1, 2023 and February 29, 2024; (iv) fund the account within fifteen (15) business days following the initial account opening; (v) maintain a minimum daily account balance of $25,000 for ninety (90) consecutive days out of the first one hundred and twenty (120) days following the initial account opening; and (vi) provide Bask Bank with an AAdvantage®️ account number in the same name as the subject Bask Mileage Savings Account.

Bask Bank will award the Account Opening Bonus miles within ten (10) Business Days once all of the conditions of this offer have been met. AAdvantage®️ miles may take 6-8 weeks to post to the linked AAdvantage®️ account. This offer is limited to one Account Opening Bonus Award for each customer.

Customers that have previously opened a Bask Mileage Savings Account, whether the account is still open or if it has been closed, are not eligible for this Bonus Miles offer.

The value of this bonus/offer will be reported to the IRS and the recipient is responsible for any federal, state or local taxes on this offer. Bask Bank reserves the right to exclude anyone from participating in the promotion for any reason, including suspected fraud, misuse or if suspicious activities are observed. All promotional offers, products and services offered by Bask Bank are subject to updates, modifications and/or termination.

If you’re considering depositing a decent amount of money into a Bask Mileage Savings Account to earn 2.5 miles per dollar, which can be attractive especially once adjusted for the value of miles that Bask has used in its past tax reporting, it makes sense to do so when you can take advantage of a new customer bonus.

Comments

  1. The bonus is an annual rate of 1.12% on top of the base rate of 3.5% during the first 90 days. Then it disappears forever.

You can do much better elsewhere.

  2. This is laughable. Citi sent me an offer for 50k miles for opening a checking account with $1k spending on the debit card and direct deposit of only $1k within 90 days. Now, which is the better offer?

  3. So I’m trying the 20K AA miles 4 $50K Deposit. Signed up August 31. But also have $50K at 5% Deposited – shouldn’t need the $ for more than 6 months. Need AA for partner awards

To Tedster. I’ve already done the Citi Checking Acc easy peasy. I have my SS $ deposited to Citi then transfer to main bank the activity earns non transferable Thank you points

  4. You’re much better off putting your money into 90 day CD’s and getting 5+% and you can use that money to buy a ticket on any airline you choose, not just AA. I used to be big on loyalty points and miles but the service has become so poor that I’d rather have the cash and go with whatever hotel or airline I choose.
