I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.
As I explained earlier today, I’ll have a different Briggs & Riley bag to give away next week as well (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).
The Briggs & Riley TORQ is a departure from just functional offering a stylish hard shell that I think looks great (although it’s extra-reinforced to prevent damage, so functional too).
It has an extra wide wheel base to prevent tipping when overstuffed, and it’s a four wheel spinner for easy transport through the airport.
And it comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.
This time we’re going to try something different. Instead of answering one question, I’m going to ask you to answer two to be eligible to win.
- Do you have different bags for different seasons?
- Do you have different bags for different missions – such as vacation travel and work?
Here are the rules:
- You need to have answered both of those questions in your comment to this blog in order to be entered.
- You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.
- All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 6 at Noon Eastern time.
- I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).
- The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.
- I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.
Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag. It looks great!

Do you have different bags for different seasons? Yes.. for winter I have a larger suitcase to check-in when I need to take bulky cold weather clothes. For summer I carry-on a Rimowa.
Do you have different bags for different missions – such as vacation travel and work? Yes… I have a suiter for work… and don’t need to travel with a suit for leisure 🙂
I use the same carryon suitcase the whole year but I have a different carryon bag for work travel as it has better suit packing situation just less room
1. One bag for all seasons
2. Same bag for all travels
Given Delta’s announcement about MQM earning, I now have two answers:
1. I have two bags: For the season when Delta is destroying my bag and another for the season while my primary bag is being repaired.
2. Nope. But both of my bags will be flying exclusively American in two weeks. Bye Delta!
1. I use the same bag for all seasons
2. I use the same bag for all travels but have been thinking about adding a new bag for only business travel
I do not have different bags for different seasons, or for work/pleasure, etc. I just use a dufflebag.
…Day 2. Still would really like one of these! 🙂
1 – I use the same bag in all seasons.
2 – I use the same bag for business and leisure travel.
1 – Same bag in all seasons
2 – Just a backpack for everything.
Seasons: no. Same bags go with me year round.
Types of travel: yes. Small bags for short trips, big bags for long trips.

Same bags for all seasons, but different bags for different reasons! 🙂
I have the same bag for all seasons.
I have different bags for long and short trips, regardless of whether it is for work or travel.
I use the same bags, no matter where I’m traveling and no matter why I’m traveling. I do occasionally switch the sizes, though, depending on how long I’m traveling for.
I don’t have different bags for different seasons.
I *do* have different bags for different purposes. My work carry-on is a small roller suitcase, and for vacation, I often go with just a backpack (I’ve gone two weeks in Central America and Southeast Asia respectively with just one schoolbag’s worth of things!).
Same bag for different seasons AND different missions. I just use the same old green bag. It has served me faithfully —-
1. No
2. Yes, my Samsonite (which is more professional looking) is reserved for business trips. Hopefully the Briggs & Riley TORQ bag could replace it 🙂
No to both questions, sadly.
no to both questions. (unless you count different sized bags depending on how much i pack…)
I do not have different bags for different seasons.
I am a 95% leisure traveller (other than the odd conference) and a 100% carryon-only traveller, so don’t have different “missions”, although i do have a couple different bags depending on how much I need to pack.

I don’t have different bags for different seasons.
I don’t have different bags for work/leisure, however my travel for work is infrequent..
Thanks!
Seasons: no. My bags travel year round. Trips: yes. Small bags for short trips and large bags for long trips.
I do not have different bags for different seasons.
I do not have different bags for work/leisure, but my travel for work is limited.
1. I don’t have a bad for different seasons.
2, I don’t have different bags for different missions.
1) i use the same bags for all seasons
2) i use different bags for work and leisure
1) I use the same bag for all seasons.
2) I change up my bags for work and leisure. And length of trip
1. I use the same bag for all seasons.
2. I will use different bags depending on the length of the trip. I don’t differentiate between work and leisure.
I do not have different bags for different seasons.
I do not have different bags for work/leisure, however my travel for work is limited.
Please pick me…

1. No, I don’t have different bags for each season.
2. I do have different bags for short vs. long trips. I also have a lightweight paksafe bag that doubles as a purse. It holds my umbrella and waterbottle nicely.
I use the same bags for every travel opportunity outside of my business trips and I usually use my Samsonite spinner bag until the handle broke. Now, I use an off brand that I purchased here in Saudi but it gets the job done.
I don’t have different bags for different seasons, but I definitely have different bags for different trips. I have a combo rollaboard/backpack for shorter business trips, a Rick Steves soft bag for longer trips and vacations, and a massive American Tourister suitcase for times when I need to bring a bunch of stuff one direction or the other.
I do not use a different bag based upon different seasons.
I sometimes use a different bag for personal travel, one that expands and can hold more luggage. My business travel is usually one or two nights, so do not need the expansion.
1, nope
2. Only travel for pleasure or family obligations, so I use the same bag for everything

One carry on. One small “man bag”.
I don’t have different bags for different seasons, but I do have different bags for business and pleasure. More difficult to roll into a business meeting with a bright red suitcase.
I don’t have different bags for different seasons and I don’t have different bags for different missions.
■Do you have different bags for different seasons?
– No. We have the same bag regardless of seasons.
■Do you have different bags for different missions – such as vacation travel and work?
– Yes. But depends on how long and location for the vacation / work travel.
I don’t have different bags for different seasons, but I do have different bags for business and pleasure.
1. 1 bag, no matter the season.
2. Different bag for stay of 1 or 2 nights
I do not have different bags for the seasons.
I do not have different bags for work and leisure – One good sturdy bag is all I ever use.
