Comment Here And You May Win a Briggs & Riley @work Bag

I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.

As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).

Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.

Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.

Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.

Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:

Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

Here are the rules:

  • You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.

  • You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.

  • All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.

  • I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).

  • The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.

  • I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.

Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

  1. I don’t usually worry about my luggage. Apart from a few instances of bus / train travel abroad, I’m not usually concerned with carry ons or checked items.

  2. I don’t generally worry though I have been to Hawaii three times in my life and each time my luggage has been lost on the way. The most recent time being a direct flight!

  3. Every time I look out the airplane window and watch handlers carelessly flinging bags about, I worry.

  4. I always keep my valuables and a few sets of clothes in my carry-on, so I don’t really worry about something happening to my check-in.

  5. I don’t really worry about damage or lost luggage that much, but I do worry about wine bottles breaking inside them!

  6. I only worry about it on the outbound…not such a big deal when a bag is lost on the return!

  7. I about my luggage for sure.

When it’s a larger bag and I go for the convenience of checking it, it’s out of sight but never out of mind. In fact I’d say it’s on my mind doubly so for being out of sight!

  8. Of course, even though I rarely have much of monetary or sentimental value in checked luggage, if it went missing, the hassle factor would be a pain. Who wants to deal with finding new clothes, chargers, toiletries, etc. when they’re on vacation? I always check a fairly cheap bag, don’t bother to put a lock on it, and try not to pack anything that can’t be easily replaced. Good thing about B&R is it’s fairly understated and won’t draw too much attention.

  9. I’m always worried about my luggage…not just if/when I check it in, but even dinging it against things while lugging it around. A wheel breaking can be a real pain.

  10. Yes, when traveling at times you are in very safe and other times very vulnerable situations for baggage theft.

And there is baggage failure too – I was just traveling abroad and my daypack zipper failed. Fortunately I quickly found a suitable replacement, but I was forced to pay $77 for a bag that I could have gotten for $41 on amazon.com.

  11. I worry. One time I asked a flight attendant if she could check on my bag after a really tight connection. She said she had no way of checking and to always “have faith.” I always try!

  12. I worry about lost luggage. I don’t want to experience one of the many horror stories I’ve heard.

  13. Generally I am not worry because I travel mostly with a carry on. But on rare occasions when I am asked if I could check my carry on, I get worried. 🙂

  14. My policy is to get there early and not worry about lost bags. Hope it keeps working!

  15. No, I don’t worry about my luggage. There are probably more important and likely sources of worry that I still don’t worry about – like being hit by a bus on the way to work. If I worried about everything that was worth worrying about, I’d have no time left for anything else.

  16. I worry al lthe time about my checked luggage! Several times it has gotten damaged or lost. This is why I try to always travel with a carry-on.

  17. I don’t particularly worry about my luggage though having said that, Delta did destroy one package without compensation as I did not report it at the baggage pickup and instead called them hours later. It was Christmas Day and the flight was an hour late and my ride was waiting on me. Jerks.

  18. I don’t worry about my bags, because I have an old beat up Travelpro. Now, if I had a new Briggs and Riley bag, then I would look after it!

  19. Yes, I do worry that occasionally something will happen to my luggage on international flights.

  20. I worry something will happen when I am on a business trip leaving me with no appropriate clothes to wear for any of my meetings!

  21. After a wheel started peeling apart while schlepping my bag from the Airport Sheraton in Frankfurt to Lufthansa’s First Class Terminal – Yes!

  22. I worry more about the luggage than the contents. My bags have been through years of international and domestic travel with me. They’re like traveling companions so I’d be really bothered if they took a bad blow protecting my belongings.

  23. Of course, I am always concerned when parting company with my beloved baggage. Will we be reunited at our destination or will it become an international tracking mystery?

  24. worry my luggage will be filet open and the contents scattered over the conveyor belt

  25. No – I figure at some point it will get lost or damaged…..and did have a bag get badly damaged on Southwest earlier this year

  26. I don’t worry, stress is bad for your health. If my bags are lost, we’ll sometimes that happens.

  27. I don’t really worry about it too much. Worst case there’s allways a blog givin’ some luggage away:)

  28. Never check in, but know that B & R would take care of it if bags damaged. Don’t think their guarantee works if the bags are lost 🙁

  29. Yes, always when I have to check–looking out the window as they load the luggage makes you crazy!

  30. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage? In general, I just assume that there is going to be some wear and tear on my luggage, and I hope that it doesn’t get totally destroyed or lost. I only truly worry about my luggage if I’m flying internationally, have multiple connections, or I’m flying somewhere to pick up a cruise.

  31. Lost or mistakenly taken by another passenger (this has occurred to me) – yes. Damaged – not really.

  32. I don’t worry about damage to my bag, as it carries a manufacturer’s lifetime warranty. I’ve already had it replaced once, no questions asked.
