Comment Here And You May Win a Briggs & Riley @work Bag

I’m a Briggs & Riley fan, my usual carry on is their Baseline CX bag. They’ve made a splash over the past month with a new bag, and I’ve arranged a giveaway.

As I explained last week, I have two different Briggs & Riley bags to give away (different bags for different reasons, they’ve “got your business and leisure covered” as it were).

Last week I gave away the hot new TORQ bag.

Of course Briggs & Riley is all about functional luggage, as much as I like the look of the new bags their bread and butter is the business market epitomized by their @work line.

Which of course comes with Briggs & Riley’s unrivaled lifetime guarantee.

Here’s how you can enter to win by commenting on this post. Given the strength of reputation for their guarantee, Answer the following question in the comments:

Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

Here are the rules:

  • You need to answer the above question in your comment to this blog to be entered.

  • You may enter up to once per day — and I give you a bit of slack in this, I won’t disqualify any entry as long as you don’t make more than one entry per calendar day or as long as no entry is closer than 24 hours together from another one. And if you’re close, we’re cool. I’m not looking to disqualify people, just to make sure there’s no massive ballot stuffing.

  • All entries (comments) must be received no later than Thursday, June 13 at Noon Eastern time.

  • I will draw a winner at random in the days following the close of the contest from those that meet these guidelines. Make sure you provide a valid e-mail address when entering to be eligible to win (you do not need to leave an email address in the comments, but along with your name where it asks for your email that email must be ‘real’ or I will have no way of contacting you).

  • The winner acknowledges that this is a prize and is not for resale.

  • I’m the final arbiter in all matters related to this contest and in all matters of interpretation. There is no appeal. I’m doing this because there’s an opportunity to send out a pretty cool high-end bag, and not taking anything in return, so please don’t give me a hard time in the process.

Any questions? E-mail me. And hopefully the winner will also follow up with me to let me know their impressions of the bag.

  1. No, I never worry. Never had anything happen yet (knock on wood) – sure I’ll worry plenty once it does!

  2. I only worry if I’m checking a bag with liquids (usually coming back home from vacation with wine) and whether it will break or not.

  3. Yes, I do worry something will happen to my checked bags. All too often, something has happened in terms of damage.

  4. I always worry about my checked bags. Like to make sure I see them go through the partition.

  5. Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?

No, I have never lost any bags before.

  6. After having my luggage lost in Africa, I worry a bit. But given that it was returned to me, I don’t worry too much!

  7. Yes, I do worry about my luggage. I have watched as the groundstaff literally toss each piece of baggage onto the ramp, to get at something, and they regularly “toss” the luggage onto the conveyor, giving each one a nice bounce, I guess so that they flatten out. Not so great when you have your stuff inside.

And overhead bins eat luggage tags, external zipper handles, etc., so I have a regular supply of replacements, drat it. I’ve found that Tumi Luggage holds up well, including their wheels’ bearings. Briggs stuff is highly touted by my local luggage guy, but I haven’t gotten any yet. This would be a good opportunity to see if he knows what he’s selling….

  8. I try not to worry but then some travel blogger posts a video of airline/airport employees pilfering someone’s bag. That doesn’t help…

  9. I don’t worry about something happening to my bag as I never check it. Everything I need must fit into a carry-on —-

  10. “Do you worry something is going to happen to your luggage?”

“Yes”… but since my old school hardside needs replacing (soon) I cap my worry and angst at $25 which is the cost of checking my bag with the airline.

  11. Yes, all of my clothes are in there and I don’t want to have to go shopping again!

  12. I dont worry about my carryon because I keep a close eye on it.
    I dont check any bags…Ever

  13. Ummmm..yes! Our last trip to Europe resulted in ALL of our bags being lost for five days. Thank God it was on the home flight because when we got into MUC we immediately boarded a train for Austria and left Austria the following morning for Slovenia. I’ve now learned to pack three days of clothes in a carry on.

  14. I constantly worry about my luggage. Between potential “inspections” by the TSA-holes who will never manage to repack my bag the way I had it organized, to the thug baggage handlers who toss my bag around without regard to the integrity of my luggage or its contents, to damage which occurs solely from natural movement that will occur when any item moves from 0 to 37,000 feet in a semi-pressurized environment, I have good reason to worry. And now, with the proliferation of the plague known as RJs, I can’t even fit a reasonably sized carry-on bag into the plane, and have to gate check my bag. Ugh!

  15. Any time I check a bag, I know it’s a gamble. With bag searches and baggage handlers, you never know.

  16. I don’t worry about losing my luggage – because I never let it out of my sight!

  17. Yes, I worry something is going to happen to my luggage, so I travel with carry on whenever possible.

  18. I worry about our trip to Europe this July. My wife and I have 10 different segments where we check our bags! I’m not sure our existing luggage will survive.

  19. Everytime I check bags! I once saw a baggage handler toss bags around and since then am always a little worried.

  20. I get so worried about luggage being rifiled through and or stolen. It hasn’t happened yet but my brand new samsonite luggage zipper got destroyed by my puppy when I got back from vacation. My mom ruined my new carry on by packing a small jar of honey and its covered in it now

  21. I worry constantly about damage to my luggage.

Over the last 6 international trips I have worn out two cloth luggage bags due to damage caused by handling. Zippers torn off, tears in the fabric, etc. I’ve been told that I should use hard case luggage instead, but I like the light weight of cloth bags!

  22. I always worry something will happen to my baggage when I check it (like getting crushed or lost). When I don’t, I still worry on UA’s 767s because of how their baggage compartment is and some people try to “re-organize” the space to force their bag up too.

  23. Nah, don’t worry. Then again, I try only to bring a small carry-on rollaboard wherever I go.

  24. I only worry when I have to check bags or if I have to gate-check my carry-on (less with the latter though than the former).

  25. I don’t worry because my suitcase is dingy and nobody would want it, which is why I’d like to win one!!

  26. I worried until I actually lost my baggage for a few days… it just wasn’t that bad!
