Through July 8 Singapore Airlines is discounting US departures when booking through their mobile app only. Travel January 10 through and May 31 Monday through Thursday.
These are great fares, good enough to warrant the extra step of downloading the airline’s app. And they’re good for economy and for premium economy. Singapore Airlines has probably the best economy product in the world with meals very similar to what they serve in premium economy, and little touches like extra legroom, a cup holder, and a foot bar (which is something other airlines only offer in their premium economy cabin).
Here are the sale fares by route:
Premium | ||||
Economy | Economy | |||
San Francisco – Hong Kong | $575 | $999
San Francisco – Singapore | $852 | $2,281
Los Angeles – Tokyo | $575 | $1,299
New York JFK – Frankfurt | $675 | $1,199
Newark – Singapore | N/A | $1,498
Houston – Manchester | $700 | $1,399 |
Of course where the increment for premium economy is low that’s going to be worth it for such a short flight, though I’m actually not a huge fan of Singapore’s premium economy seat — too narrow.
Flights book into the “lowest booking code inventory availability in its respective cabin class” for economy I assume is K inventory which would earn 50% of flown miles if credited to the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program and which earns similarly in SAS EuroBonus and with Virgin Australia but which doesn’t earn miles in other partner programs like United MileagePlus. Premium economy ‘P’ inventory earns 100% of flown miles in most programs, 110% in some, and 150% with Lufthansa’s Miles & More.

are the pe tickets easy to upgrade to business?
@vik – not nearly as easy as it used to be, there needs to be business class award space available and the pricing is on their “One-way Premium Economy Standard to Business Class Upgrade” chart, p5 here: https://www.singaporeair.com/saar5/pdf/ppsclub_krisflyer/charts/SQMI_OneWayUpgradeCharts.pdf
its easier than upgrading Premium Economy to business on an American ticket on a flight operated by Iberia. American says you have to DOWNGRADE to Economy to UPGRADE to Business. PE to J is simply not possible. Clowns.
