Just a Few Hotel Rooms Left for Frequent Traveler University in April

The next Frequent Traveler University is April 26-28 in Northern Virginia. Lucky from One Mile at a Time, Mommy Points, Million Mile Secrets, The Points Guy, and Frequent Miler will all be speaking along with me at the event. And I’ll be putting together the rest of the program shortly.

Already — still over four months out — nearly 400 people have signed up to attend.

Folks have had some difficulty getting rooms at the host hotel. Co-organizer Tommy wrote over at Milepoint,

The host hotel is sold out of regular rooms.

I’ve gotten my hands on all the Executive Level rooms for an additional 40 dollars a night, so 139 per night, which includes full breakfast for all occupants every day and upgraded rooms on the top floors.

There are only 100 of these rooms available, so pls book yours asap…

So what does this mean? Well, we’ve officially taken over the Hilton Tyson’s Corner. Only around 15 guests outside of our room block are booked for the weekend. Should be an awesome time having a property this big almost to ourselves

We still have around 300 tickets left for this FTU and I’m getting offers from the hotels in the area and hopefully we’ll have a new block at another property later this week or early next week

Thank y’all for making this the largest frequent traveler junkie event ever — by far!

I checked this morning and apparently there were a few hotel room cancellations, as the $89 rate for a regular room is back (there could literally be only one, I didn’t check further).

But the hotel will most certainly sell out with Frequent Traveler University attendees. So if you’re planning to attend, and want to stay at the host hotel, it would be a good idea to book that now.

You can register for the event here and then book book the hotel group rate at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

  1. Thanks Gary. When you book the $89 rate, you can request the executive floor upgrade option for $29 more per day which is $21 cheaper than booking the executive floor room directly for $139.

  2. @Neet of course that upgrade is only subject to availability vs confirmed. And the idea of offering the executive floor option is that there were no regular rooms available (and no doubt soon won’t be again), so we’re offering what we can get!!

  3. Tried booking and the Hilton web site is acting up. Cannot book either $89 or $139 rate. Called the hotel and no one working today has any ice of FT university rate or even meeting in April. Booked room at $159 to secure space and asked for someone to call me on Monday.

  4. Can’t book this via mobile. Typing in my password loads to a different page while entering it

  5. @Linda working on more rooms, working on an overflow hotel, but lots of nearby options including westin and sheraton that are selling reasonably and offering cash and points awards
