Every Travel Company Catering to (Patronizing) Millennials Has Got to Stop
Millennials aren’t that different from other generations. They want to go to Hawaii. They may not buy as many souvenirs but spend more on experiences while they’re away. However where millennials really diverge from other generations is that they are less trusting of institutions. So patronizing millennials by forced attempts at authenticity is self-defeating.
Hyatt Just Announced a New Head of Loyalty, What Do You Want to Ask Him?
Hyatt just announced that Mark Vondrasek will be their new head of loyalty (and ‘business platforms’).
Vondrasek was with Starwood for 15 years, from 2001 to 2016, and in mid-2015 became Senior Vice President for Commercial Services overseeing sales and revenue management as well as distribution, loyalty, and partnerships.
I’ll be speaking with him this afternoon, what would you like to ask?
Will Opening Credit Cards Start to Have a Bigger Effect on Insurance Premiums?
I learned this past week that my homeowners insurance will be factoring in not just credit score in pricing premiums but specifically the frequency of new credit account opening.
Coincidentally I heard from reader Kim A. in Florida that her insurance company is doing the same thing.

Must Watch Video: Which is Worth It, JetBlue, Flying Private, or Singapore Suites?
JetBlue comes out looking really good in this BuzzFeed spinoff video that is currently trending number one on YouTube. Woman Runs Down Aisle With Pants Down, Tries to Bite Flight Attendant, Sues Airline
Sabina Sultanova was flying London to Dubai on British Airways. In her telling “she passed out before waking up in an airport holding room full of police officers” and that she was “pulled back” onto the aircraft by a flight attendant as she tried to disembark on arrival, cutting her neck and bruising her. And she says she couldn’t swallow for several days thanks to her neck injuries.

Fly American’s A321 Three-Cabin First Class for $518
Earlier today I wrote about American putting a 3-cabin aircraft once a day on Boston – Los Angeles.
For those who want to fly cross country in American’s three-cabin fully flat first class seats which are arranged one-one (each seat is both an aisle and a window seat) there’s a more economical way to do it than buying first class Boston – Los Angeles directly.
Piece of a Boeing 777’s Wing Fell Off — And Landed on a Car in Osaka
A KLM Boeing 777-200 flying from Osaka Kansai to Amsterdam on Saturday lost a piece of its wing — which fell onto a car.
As the plane climbed through 12,000 feet on departure a one meter fairing panel came off the plane — and fell onto Keihan National Highway in Osaka.
