Back in December I wrote about an amazing fare on United partner and Star Alliance member Avianca offer Los Angeles to Madrid, Barcelona, and London for about $2000 in business class. Those fares are still available and they’re incredibly flexible.
Avianca’s 787 business class is fully flat reverse herringbone seats with direct aisle access – a very good hard product.

American’s AAVacations is offering 15,000 bonus miles for booking an air and hotel package (minimum 3 night stay) by February 22 for travel through November 20.
American awards miles as a percentage of distance flown instead of based on fare on AAVacations tickets, and they often sell business class tickets at a discount this way as well.

American Airlines makes virtually no premium cabin award space on their own flights available, except for the occasional brief ‘dumps’ of space that last for hours or a day before reverting to their normal lack of inventory.
It seems especially notable that right now American is offering a highly unusual amount of premium cabin award space at the very end of the schedule.
United Pilot Removed After Showing Up Late in Plain Clothes and Going on Bizarre Rant

Last night the pilot of a United flight from Austin to San Francisco was removed after showing up out of uniform, in plain clothes, and entering the cabin to make a bizarre rant in front of passengers about her divorce, the election (she didn’t support Trump or Clinton), and make a book recommendation.
She apologized for being late, polled passengers on whether they minded that she was out of uniform, and promised that she’d be letting her co-pilot fly so that passengers didn’t need to be nervous about her (and emphasizing that ‘he’s a man‘).
