Qatar Airways To Take Control Of RwandAir, Add It To oneworld?

Prior to the pandemic Qatar Airways was looking at taking a 49% stake in RwandAir after already having invested in and taken control of the new Kigali airport. The plan was to improve RwandAir’s systems and quality, and bring them into oneworld although it was not clear at the time whether the airline would become a full or ‘connect’ member of the alliance.

After nearly five years of discussions, punctuated by the pandemic, Qatar Airways finally looks ready to take the stake in RwandAir this summer.

I love reading these insider details, almost as much as the players involved probably hate their being published.

I think both sides come out really well here – Wells Fargo aggressively experimented, found something wasn’t working, and pulled back while they retooled. Meanwhile Bilt Rewards has a lucrative program in place for a long time that consumers benefit from.

Delta Business Class Passenger’s Lewd Acts Ignored by Crew On New York – Athens Flight

A man seated in the row in front of him tried calling over a flight attendant, but no one responded so he eventually got up and went to the galley to let a crewmember know what was going on.

She promised “to alert the crew lead” but nothing was done, and the man continued “on and off for a few hours” and I don’t know whether that’s genuinely frightening or awe-inspiring?

No Strike Yet: American Airlines Flight Attendants Reveal Details From D.C. Negotiations

American Airlines and its flight attendants union were in Washington, D.C. this week for what the Association of Professional Flight Attendants described as ‘last ditch’ talks before a strike. Leaks from the National Mediation Board suggested that if a deal wasn’t reached by early June, flight attendants would be released to strike.

However the week’s negotiations ended, there is no deal – and no declared impasse by the National Mediation Board.
