Hong Kong has had some of he world’s most extreme measures for foreign arrivals during the pandemic. Those are being mostly scrapped starting Wednesday.

United Airlines and Boeing are planning a big announcement today at the airframe manufacturer’s facility in South Carolina. They’ve been expected to announce a huge order for Boeing 787s, which should be line-fit with a new Polaris business class suites with doors.
Ahead of the announcement details of the order have already been released. The Boeing 787 details are correct but they’re ordering MAX aircraft, too.

Ahead of Tuesday’s planned announcement, Jon Ostrower breaks news about the identities of Boom Aerospace engine providers.
They couldn’t get any of the big engine manufacturers to bite, because no one thinks this project will succeed commercially. If everyone is wrong, and if the smaller players turn out to have the expertise, this would be a huge win all-around. But probabilities are stacked against success.

Pueblo, Colorado is losing jet service to Denver, and seeing it replaced with 9-seat turboprops. And the federal government is paying $3 million a year for the privilege.
The irony is that the existing subsidized airline, SkyWest, was offering to take out nearly half the seats from their jets, providing a better flying experience, and operate two flights a day instead of just one.

A group of Frontier Airlines passengers banded together to rent a van for an overnight drive rather than endure travel on the airline, after their initial 650 mile flight from Orlando to Knoxville was cancelled last Sunday.
The airline told them the next flight they could take would be two days later, and so they decided 10 hours with Hertz would be far better than 48 hours to their destination with an air carrier. And they took to TikTok to document the journey.
