News and notes from around the interweb:
- Lufthansa will status match disaffected British Airways and Iberia elites
- Passenger does a full workout in her seat and flight attendants are okay with it for the entire duration of her flight on a United Airlines Boeing 757 in business class.
- Air Canada Aeroplan’s family pooling feature is again open for creating new pools. It’s the sort o thing that can be a tool for a lot of miscreants and maladventures, so I’m glad to see them manage to bring it back.
It means earning points faster (use the miles you earn and that your kids earn towards the same award ticket!) and lets you transfer from credit card points accounts of different family members and use all the points that wind up in different accounts for the same ticket.
Up to 8 family members can share points from their Aeroplan accounts. They now will sometimes require identity verification, though.
- I’m ded.
Obviously it was going to be Southwest. And this is why you always pay to avoid being in close quarters with poor people if you can. https://t.co/XURXjV8Vl8

- Expedia confirms more layoffs since they don’t actually perform customer service, they don’t need nearly so many staff.
Last year Expedia cut about 1,500 roles, primarily in its Product & Technology division, as part of an operational review.
Expedia reported revenue growth of 10% to $3.1 billion in the fourth quarter, while adjusted net income grew 30% year-over-year. Both beat analyst expectations.
- Refused a facial in the Philadelphia Chase Sapphire Lounge for having acne
- Australian politician complains to Qantas about being photographed drinking in club lounge and on board you’re a politician in public and outraged that you’re behavior is seen, ok then.
- United will re-open its Hong Kong club this year it was good by U.S. standards but not nearly as nice as the Centurion lounge directly next door (which only really impresses with sit-down dining for Black Card customers).
I’m just here for the comments.
Oof. Lady. No. Please, no.
On Expedia layoffs: Yup. Not surprising. Folks are scaling back on discretionary spending. Inflation is still very real. Tariffs aren’t helping. Tax cuts for billionaires definitely isn’t helping. Cuts to Medicaid isn’t helping. ‘He was (wrong) about everything.’
Hmmmm… If that’s a “Full Workout”, I’m Arnold Schwarzenegger.
What? She did not bring her treadmill?
She doesn’t seem to be doing anything but making a fool out of herself. Really, you’re sitting in a lie flat business seat therefore she’s pretty easy to ignore. Or laugh at.
Seems she’s not bothering anyone. It wouldn’t bother me. Kids screaming and running amok would be much worse.
Where’s a plane crash or a runway incursion when we need one?
