Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, halting the counting of electoral votes to declare Joe Biden President. Guns were drawn by police. Legislators were given gas masks. A woman has been shot. D.C. has a 6 p.m. curfew in place.
But where did these protestors come from? Many of them flew to D.C., creating mask controversies on an American Airlines flight and harassing Mitt Romney along the way.
Earlier in the day I noted that on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to DC yesterday a passenger projected “Trump 2020” onto the ceiling of the aircraft. I’ve finally found the video – the language in which is very ‘NSFW’ as passenger tempers flare.
And so it begins.

Fortunately the situation calmed inside the Boeing 737-800, and everyone had seat back entertainment to keep them occupied and chilled throughout since the plane hadn’t yet been retrofit into American’s new standard configuration.
These are Trump Terrorists. Full on sedition. Full stop. 25th Amendment should be immediately enforced. Much more damage can be still done in the next 15 days. A sad day for democracy.

It’s just horrific what’s happening. The US has always considered itself the world’s role model for democracy. Haha, I bet China is laughing at us now.

I believe the bottom line is, that whether we are liberal or conservative, Republican, Democrat, Independent, or Other, not a single one of us can call ourselves a ‘patriot’ and be happy about what has happened in our nation today.
We have been shamed on a global basis. We try to convince other nations of our ‘wonderful’ democracy–after today, who would believe us? Where is our credibility?
I am sure I speak for a vast number that we don’t care what party the president belongs to, as long as he/she is a statesperson who knows how to achieve progress and can command respect.. Not by bullying, or denigrating, or dropping bombs–although as a last resort those means may be necessary. But as a daily diet? I think not. We look for a person who is a leader in principle, and hopefully, will improve our standing as a unfieid body, respect our Constitution, and enhance the value of our lives in this beautiful country in which we live.
Maybe I’m naive, or a dreamer. But I’m not the only one.

@ UA-NYC You are missing a very important point. These were not PAID PROTESTERS that went to DC. They went at their own expense. Using the medias own classification system, I’d say this was even less than a “mostly peaceful protest.”

What a sad state of affairs that it’s even being debated beyond the simple fact that Trump instigated a riot and as a result 5 people have died and the very core of American democracy has been attacked by Trump inspired terrorists.
It almost makes people forget just how badly Trump has handled the most dangerous period of this pandemic and all the lives he has cost by showing zero leadership and done nothing but focus on himself. He handed off complete democratic control of the House, Senate and White House due to his pathological narcissism and branded the Republican Party as the party of hate, intolerance and self serving deal making at the expense of the common good.
All that said, America will recover and the duck dynasty will not control the direction of this country, we are better then that. I look forward to adults in Washington moving us forward beyond the Q anon nutcases that Trump has handed a megaphone to.
