American Airlines Uses Secret Rule To Ban Passenger From Flight

Jun 16 2023

An American Airlines passenger wasn’t allowed to board his flight from Austin to New York JFK because he was filming a gate agent that he thought was rude. The agent didn’t like him filming and called for a supervisor, who refused to allow him to take the flight. They deemed filming employees to violate the airline’s rules – though these are secret rules which do not appear published anywhere that customers can see them.

Police were called, the officer confirmed the passenger wasn’t breaking the law, but they still weren’t allowed to board.

Review: American Airlines First Class, Los Angeles – Sydney

Jun 15 2023

I was actually excited to fly American Airlines Flagship first class. It’s been been several years since I’d done so. And with the introduction of new business suites with doors on new Boeing 787-9s, American will be eliminating Flagship First Class retrofitting their Boeing 777-300ERs to offer just business class. I knew this roundtrip might be my last time flying American Airlines long haul first class ever!

American Could Reach 800 Flights A Day In Charlotte, But There’s Nowhere For Passengers To Wait

Why Charlotte Needs Another American Airlines Admirals Club
Jun 13 2023

Prior to the pandemic, American Airlines was growing its Charlotte hub to 700 flights. They got new gates and were doubling down on their Southeastern hub, with its low costs and access to Sun destinations. Charlotte was still second to Dallas – Fort Worth, where they were growing to 900 flights.

American’s future in Charlotte may be about to get even bigger, since the airport has started work on a new 10,000 foot, $1.6 billion runway west of the terminal.

The Galling Hypocrisy Of American Airlines, Which Wants The Government To Ban A Competitor

Jun 13 2023

American and Southwest, for their part, face competition in their home market. JSX is allowed to offer convenient scheduled service from private terminals, using their own security (which includes scanners, bag swabs, and ID verification), because they operate with no more than 30 seats per aircraft. American is explicit that their concern is the competitive advantage this gives to JSX.

Government Asks Judge To Immediately Shut Down American-JetBlue Alliance

Jun 09 2023

American Airlines and JetBlue basically asked the judge to do what the judge suggested would have been permissible: codeshare and partner through their frequent flyer programs. That helps retain some competitiveness in the New York market, attracting customers away from the biggest players Delta and United.

The government though wants the partnership itself fully terminated, not only the parts that were found to be anti-competitive.

American Airlines Passenger Bought Himself A Seat – And Two Seats For His Dog

Jun 09 2023

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a passenger book more than one seat for their animal before. Yet here is a man traveling with his dog. He has one seat, the great dane has two. And the dog needed every inch of it.

Throughout this cross country flight to New York JFK on an American Airlines Airbus A321T, the 140 pound pup stood up, sat down, napped, and interacted with the rest of the cabin.

Ex-American Airlines Flight Attendants Union Head Suing After He Was Found To Have Swindled Funds

Jun 05 2023

Last year former APFA President Bob Ross was found to have misappropriated funds while running the union. An arbitrator’s award covered charges he billed a family vacation to the union credit card, improperly billed his personal furniture (and bedding and even toilet paper) to the union, and of having the union pay for a personal office he wasn’t entitled to among other alleged misdeeds.

Ross filed suit to overturn the arbitrator’s judgment, arguing first that he shouldn’t be singled out among past union Presidents for financial impropriety, and then that the accusations against him are all part of a plot for Sara Nelson’s AFA-CWA to take over the union.

Class Action Lawsuit Says American Airlines Pension Pursues Political Agenda, Not Investment Returns

A senior American Airlines pilot has filed a class action lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas over the 100,000 member, $26 billion airline pension, arguing that it is pursuing “leftist political agendas” by making investments that follow ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) guidelines.

He argues that the plan breaches its fiduciary duty by privileging activism on issues including race, LGBTQ+ rights, and environmentalism over financial returns.
