Alaska Airlines Devalues British Airways Awards, Adds Connecting Flight Surcharge

When Alaska Airlines introduced its new, unified award chart that replaced the separate charts for each airline partner on its website a month ago, it was a loss for transparency.

By sharing less information about award prices, they can increase those prices without telling consumers. They had previously committed to share changes with members in advance. But as long as the ‘starting from’ price doesn’t change, they can increase most award rates at will.

Boris Johnson Races Home On British Airways, Trying To Become Prime Minister Again

Ex-U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is returning to London from holiday in Punta Cana, just as shocked apparently as the rest of the world by the rapid meltdown of Liz Truss’s tenure at 10 Downing Street. He wasn’t even on the Continent.

Travel is expensive, and flights are full. So it shouldn’t be surprising that he isn’t flying business.

The British Airways New York Move Begins Next Month, Readying New Premium Lounges

There’s a new shared premium check-in area and revamped larger joint premium lounges with a dedicated premium path directly to the lounges.

Flagship First check-in is being enlarged, renovated, and rebranded, since it will be used for both BA and American. Lounges are being redone as well, with a total capacity for 1000 passengers. The most premium lounge – replacing First Dining – will include a champagne bar, a sit down dining room and a fireside lounge.
