Hyatt is adjusting its award chart to create peak and off peak pricing at each category for reward nights booked starting Tuesday, October 26th for stays March 1, 2022 and beyond. This is a devaluation, but Hyatt’s program remains better than competitors’.

Chase Launches New Hyatt Small Business Card, Strongest For Earning Elite Status
The Hyatt program is smaller than many of Chase’s co-brand partners, but it hits above its weight because it’s a good program and members know it. A small business card is going to be a small slice of the smaller program pie. But Chase has been willing to do smaller portfolios – we’ll be seeing the Air Canada U.S. credit card soon, they are introducing an Instacart card.
By narrowcasting it’s possible to really target what a small group of consumers want, delivering things that group values without spending to build a card that delivers well for everyone. In other words it should be possible to deliver greater subjective value at lower cost. That was my frame as I walked into an event Chase and Hyatt hosted to announce the card.
Hyatt Is Really, Really Going To Start Expiring Points Again After December 31
Hyatt’s plan to expire points again is a stark contrast to Hilton which says they won’t expire points in 2022. Of course Hilton also extended status and free night certificates again. We’re still waiting to hear from Marriott on their card certificate plan for next year and whether they’ll make any more pandemic accommodations.
Rumors Swirling About New Hyatt Credit Card
There have been several rumors about a new Hyatt card finally launching. We don’t know what that card would look like. The Points Guy just dropped a piece on why Chase needs a Hyatt small business card which I took as one hint, though Danny Deal Guru reports on a rumor from Chase customer service about a new Hyatt premium card (think $400+ annual fee).
Hyatt’s Free Leverage Program: Take Up To 15% Off Stays
I tested it at my most frequent stay property. The rate was taking 15% off of the ‘Standard’ rate. In this case the AAA rates and Member rates were the same – and this ‘corporate rate for anyone’ beat them both. In fact it was $13 better than the Member (and AAA) advance purchase rate – without advance purchase required.
Hyatt Buying 100 Hotel And Vacation Package Business, Apple Leisure Group
Hyatt is adding 100 new hotels with the purchase of Apple Leisure Group from private equity investors KKR and KSL Capital in a $2.7 billion transaction. Apple Leisure owns AMResorts and provides charter flights to Mexico and the Caribbean along with vacation packages through Apple Vacations and CheapCaribbean.com.
This gives Hyatt a presence in New European markets – they highlight Spain, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands and Greece – and more all-inclusive luxury properties thian anyone else “such as Secrets Resorts & Spa, Dreams Resorts & Spas, Breathless Resorts & Spas, Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts and Alua Hotels & Resorts.”
Review: Park Hyatt DC Upgrade To A Georgetown Suite
I had to go to Washington DC for work recently and my wife and I decided that she and our daughter would come along for the weekend leading up to my time there. I cringe at the industry term ‘bleisure’ but that’s what this was.
Since I was with family I confirmed a suite, and I was able to take advantage of elite breakfast from room service too.
Hyatt Adds Several Timeshare Redemption Properties With A Dangerous Pricing Precedent
Several Destination Residences are now bookable with Hyatt points. Some of these are amazing properties, and even good value. However there’s a dangerous pricing precedent at some locations where there aren’t “standard rooms” and everything costs more than the standard award chart as a result.
Free Hyatt Mid-Tier Elite Status And Fast Track To Globalist Open To Everyone
It turns out though that anyone can register for free Hyatt status and a fast track, and the broader offer is even better because instead of free 90 days of status, the free Explorist mid-tier status lasts through end of 2021 whether you stay enough with Hyatt to keep status or not.
What’s more, instead of having just 90 days to stay enough to keep status you’ve got until the end of the year so it’s far more generous.
