I absolutely loved this discussion amongst flight attendants of ways they can go above and beyond in providing domestic first class service. It isn’t required of them. They aren’t going to be penalized for not doing it (or rewarded by their company foe going all-out). They just want to be proud of their performance, each and every day.

American Airlines Inflight Service Cuts Are Everything That’s Wrong With American Society

When I covered cuts in inflight service at the behest of its flight attendants union I pointed out all of the elements of hypocrisy and how this makes the American Airlines product worse.

In some sense American had no choice as a result of broader cultural issues we’re grappling with as we transition from the pandemic to endemic phase of dealing with Covid-19.

American Airlines Blames The CARES Act For Lack Of Catering On Dallas Flights

The CARES Act and successor spending bills gave $79 billion from U.S. taxpayers to airlines. But American Airlines is blaming the laws for its inability to catering flights out of Dallas – Fort Worth with beverages and snacks.

At a recent employee question and answer session, a recording of which was reviewed by View From The Wing, a flight attendant asked CEO Doug Parker about catering problems in Dallas and Charlotte. Parker responded by blaming catering companies who have been unable to to hire employees.
