A Spirit Airlines employee was filmed last week at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport getting into it with a passenger, accosting her and dropping an F-bomb. The woman probably deserved it?

The check-in agent followed the woman to security. And as the woman advanced in line at the TSA checkpoint, she demanded that the woman show her boarding pass.

Thanks To Department Of Justice, Spirit Airlines Forced To Furlough Pilots

Spirit Airlines is planning to furlough 260 pilots starting in September. They’re blaming Pratt & Whitney engine issues, which limit their flying. However, they’re also deferring delivery of new aircraft because of their financial position. And they wouldn’t be in this position, except for the federal government blocking plans which would have utilized these resources.

JetBlue Walks Away From Spirit Airlines Deal: Here’s What They Should Do Instead

It seems clear that JetBlue is better off without the distraction and cost of a Spirit Airlines acquisition. They should work on a new American Airlines alliance similar to American’s deal with Alaska, which the anti-trust judge outlined would be permissible (and American in its earnings call said they’d consider a new partnership).

They need to get their operation under control, rebuild service to Boston, shift away from long haul international growth where they’re bleeding, and walk away from Southern California. Or else, expect Carl Icahn to dismantle the carrier and sell it for parts.

Cocktails And No Pants: How One Spirit Airlines Passenger Turned A Flight Into A Fiasco

A passenger on a Spirit Airlines flight reportedly removed his pants and shirt and walked through the aisle while the seatbelt sign remained on. The flight had been delayed for several hours, and the man apparently hadn’t sobered up, but though he was obviously intoxicated at the start of the trip a passenger says that the airline didn’t remove him.
