The ‘New Alitalia’ Handing Out Elite Status To Virtually Everyone Free

The ‘new Alitalia’ – ITA Airways – doesn’t have elite frequent flyers yet, and they’d like some. So they’re offering a status match to elites in most programs. So if you would like elite you just need to e-mail them.

  • Sign up for the Volare frequent flyer program
  • Email statusmatch -at- itaspa.com using with the following characteristics:
Subject line [Frequent Flyer Program You’re a Member Of] [Your Current Status] E.g. “United 1K”
Then in the body: First name Last Name [Frequent Flyer Program You’re a Member Of] [Your Current Status]
And attach a copy of your “current valid Frequent Flyer Card (digital or physical) and a copy of your ID card” (.pdf or .jpg)
  • They’ll process by December 31, 2021.

They’re literally matching against frequent flyer programs in all alliances – including SkyTeam programs like Air France KLM and Delta SkyMiles, and including Alitalia Millemiglia.

Oddly while the terms list programs they’ll match from including Aeroflot, ANA, Korean Air, and TAROM Romanian, they don’t list JetBlue or Alaska Airlines (and JetBlue flies to Europe now). Many of the programs are actually misspelled in the program terms.

Isn’t telling customers interested in their elite frequent flyer program – becoming their best customers – that they may not even get a response for two and a half months the most Alitalia thing ever? If you wondered whether ITA Airways was still Alitalia or not I think you know.

  1. And to talk about free, Americans wonder when will President Biden deliver the “4th Stimulus free money check.” The people need that “free money.”

  2. Hey DNN: that’s gone forever. The Republicans wanted all industry slaves back Pronto! Only that didn’t happen Ha Ha! Seems even poor people value their health/children more than slave wages. Good for them!

  3. @Jorge.. I kinda agree with you on that. They’re allegedly leaving people dangling in hope and awe and “what if,” concerning the “4th free money Stimulus.” It’s not good to rank on poor people, because they too are somebody.

  4. Are you sure that site is real, and not just a phishing site?

The page starts with “Join now our new ITA Loyalty program Nomeprogramma!” — “Nomeprogramma” means “program name” in Italian, so it’s like they didn’t even fill it in after coming up with the name…

  5. @T “ 7. The assigned status will be valid for 1 year starting from December 31, 2021, its maintenance methods are indicated in the VOLARE program.”

@Gary Do you think it’s worth trying from an Alaska MVP Gold status?

  6. Can’t we leave the non-related politics aside for Twitter and the talk-shows? Isn’t there a moderator in this site?

  7. @Gary & Mogon: Thanks both! I just signed up for its FF. I was very strange that after verifying the email address, it never showed the FF#. So how they match status? Very strange unless I miss something.

  8. So did anyone actually sign up for the status match? Wondering what they mean by “copy of your ID card1”? Does that mean they want a copy of my passport?

On a side note it almost seems like the site was thrown together by a junior high student. Even the ITA Airways logo seems like it isn’t displaying properly (blurry), but I guess that could be my compter.

  9. I matched a few months ago but their top tier hasn’t proved valuable as of now. DL website doesn’t allow ITA FFN entry so no benefit on DL flights. Does anyone know it can be used on DL?
